That other NBA team in Los Angeles is generating more and more buzz. The up-and-coming Clippers got a chance to strut their stuff Friday night in the team's home opener at Staples Center. They came up short though, losing to the Chicago Bulls, 114-101. The loss drops the Clippers to 1-2 on the season. Blake Griffin led the Clips with 34 points and 13 rebounds. Newly-acquired point guard Chris Paul chipped in with 15 points and 14 assists. Reigning league MVP Derrick Rose led the Bulls with 29 points and 16 assists. Long-suffering Clipper fans have high hopes for the current season. After years of losing, the team appears to be on the rise, just as the rival Lakers look to possibly be on the decline. The Clippers defeated the Lakers twice in the shortened exhibition season. The regular season finally got underway this week after being delayed by the NBA lockout. A sellout crowd of more than 19,000 turned out at Staples for the Clippers' home opener. Follow NBCLA for t...
