The Los Angeles Clippers were one of the best teams in the Western Conference last season, and they are a move or two away from competing to represent the conference in the NBA Finals. According to Dan Wolke of the Orange County Register, the Clippers are very much in the mix to sign veteran free agent Paul Pierce this offseason. Pierce has had a great relationship with Doc Rivers in their tenures with the Boston Celtics, and he would immediately have a role with L.A. Early FA watchlist for #Clippers — LeBron, Melo, Paul Pierce, Trevor Ariza, Darren Collison and Glen “Big Baby” Davis among others — Dan Woike (@DanWoikeSports) July 1, 2014 This would be a very nice signing for the Clippers, and would be one of those moves that would help them take the next step against teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs. They would likely plug Pierce immediately into the starting small forward spot, and bring Matt Barnes off of the bench. It is unknown what type of contract Pierce is looking for, but he is likely
