I get why the Clippers would be hesitant. If they trade Bledsoe and CP3 decides not to re-sign, that wouldn’t really be beneficial to them.
As I reported yesterday, the whole situation is very complicated and I doubt it gets done, but there is still hope that someone will blink in the next couple of days.
The proposed cross-country move of Doc Rivers from the Boston Celtics‘ bench to the Los Angeles Clippers‘ bench remained in limbo Saturday night because of the teams’ ongoing haggling over prized young guard Eric Bledsoe, according to sources with knowledge of the talks.
Sources say that the Clippers continue to tell Boston that they will not include Bledsoe in the proposed trade for Garnett, largely because they are determined to keep Chris Paul‘s backup to headline a separate down-the-road trade once they’re certain that Paul has committed his long-term future to L.A.
The viability of the trade scenario featuring Rivers and Garnett thus hinges on either the Celtics or the Clippers relenting in the next day or two. Boston is also said to be insisting that the Clippers absorb the contract of either Jason Terry or Courtney Lee to clinch the deal.
If this was all to go down, Paul Pierce would be brought in at a later time. One way or another, the Clippers will be hiring a coach early next week.

Not so fast, DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe.
What a crazy Saturday this has been. Doc Rivers was apparently on the table in a trade that would have also shipped KG and Pierce to LA. Of course, Danny Ainge had some crazy demands and it seems like the deal was hung up on Eric Bledsoe's inclusion.
And so, it appears both teams have now moved on?

Celtics, Clippers still talking
The talk all weekend was about the potential goings on in the back halls at TD Garden. And it was not about the Stanley Cup Final making its way to Boston. There are proverbial moving boxes outside Doc Rivers' office if the team can get this thing figured out.
