SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Marvin Williams scored 18 points, Gordon Hayward added 13 and the Utah Jazz beat the Los Angeles Clippers 99-91 on Saturday night. The Jazz starters played extensive minutes and all five had reached double figures in scoring before the Clippers mounted a fourth-quarter comeback. Mo Williams was fouled behind the arc just before the end of the third quarter and made all three free throws to give Utah an 80-65 advantage. Mo Williams, who played with the Clippers last season, finished with 10 points. DeAndre Jordan slammed home a Chris Paul miss to trim Utah's lead to 87-80 with 5:35 to play as the Jazz featured their reserves in the fourth period. But Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors made big baskets to hold off Los Angeles. Matt Barnes scored 22 points while Paul had 17 points and eight assists for the Clippers, who rested three starters.

Jazz 99, Clippers 91

Marvin Williams sat in front of his locker with a bag of ice on covering his right hand. Teammates joked that he just needed to cool off after scoring 18 points to help the Utah Jazz beat the Los Angeles Clippers 99-91 on Saturday night. ''No, it's not that,'' Williams smiled. ''I just jammed my pinkie finger in the third quarter, but nothing serious...

Jeremy Evans of the Jazz Blocks, Dunks, and Goes End-to-End on Defense

Utah Jazz forward Jeremy Evans hasn't had a particularly impressive NBA career yet, appearing in only 49 and 29 games respectively in his two years in the league will do that. Suffice to say, this display of athleticism that he showed off in a preseason game against the LA Clippers as he blocks Ronny Turiaf, dunks over Turiaf and then gets all the way on defense to make a stop...

Jazz Forward Darnell Jackson Ejected After Clothesline

Things got a little testy in Utah at the end of the Jazz game versus the Clippers, when a persistent Marqus Blakely of LA refused to let Utah’s Darnell Jackson hold the ball for time to run out, even though the Jazz were down 8 points. It really feels like Blakely had it coming, he just would stop trying to knock the ball away from Jackson. He’s lucky he didn’t pull that on...

POTD 10/20/12: Alec Burks on Marqus Blakely

Something about the LA Clippers coming to town… it seems to bring the flare out of the Utah Jazz.  Last January, the term “Salt Lob City” was coined during a 108-79 blowout at Energy Solutions Arena, kick starting Jeremy Evans’ dunk contest campaign.  Evans finished a pair of alley-oops that bookended a five-minute fourth quarter run during which numerous dunks were completed...

Jeremy Evans blocks Ronny Turiaf than dunks on him

In a recent preseason game between the Jazz and Clippers, Jeremy Evans embarrassed Ronny Turiaf twice. Turiaf shot was blocked by the Jazz’s Evans and Evans than went on the first break where he dunked on Turiaf. He threw down a nice one handed slam. Check out the video below. Video: Evans humiliates Turiaf on both ends of the court

I know it's just the preseason but if the following video is any indication of how awesome the new season will be, then I say let's get it doing sooner than later.  In a preseason matchup between the Heat and Jazz, Utah's Jeremy Evans pretty much humiliated Miami's Ronny Turiaf on both ends of the court. I can forgive Ronny for getting blocked, it happen and...

Jeremy Evans Swats And Dunks On Ronny Turiaf

In a preseason matchup between the Jazz and the Clippers, there was one of the best dunks of the young NBA season, and no, it wasn’t from Blake Griffin. Jeremy Evans absolutely embarrassed veteran big man Ronny Turiaf by rejecting his shot, scooping up the ball, and hammering it down on Turiaf at the other end.Maybe Evans wanted to prove to Clipper Management that he would be a...

Kobe Bryant blocks Gordon Hayward’s shot

Kobe Bryant is known for a lot of things but not his shot blocking. However, Bryant showed that he still has lot in the tank in a recent Lakers preseason game against the Utah Jazz. The Jazz’s Gordon Hayward went up for a layup but Bryant blocked in with his left hand. So much for Bryant retiring in two years. Check out the video below. Follow me on twitter @ScottBasketball...
