Detroit, MI - The Los Angeles Clippers and Detroit Pistons met up this afternoon in Detroit, but it was the Clippers that took control of the game and put it away early on in the second half. Detroit didn’t appear to be prepared for the offensive onslaught that the Clippers bring every night, and they were unable to outscore the Clippers. The Pistons trailed by as many as 20 points in the fourth quarter, but made a comeback late that came up short. Rodney Stuckey had a huge game for the Pistons off the bench, scoring 29 points on 11-20 shooting. Stuckey has been very impressive for the past week or two, and has really helped give the Pistons a stable bench. Josh Smith chipped in with 24 points as well, but those two players were just about the only bright spots for the Pistons today. Andre Drummond recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Will Bynum was the only other double digit scorer with 11. Jamal Crawford once again came off the bench to propel the Clippers to another win, scoring 26 points on 9-13 shooting. Blake Griffin scored 25 points on the afternoon, while only grabbing five rebounds. DeAndre Jordan made up for Griffin’s lack of rebounding with 21 rebounds himself, and also chipped in 16 points. The Clippers had two other players score in double figures, with J.J. Redick (20) and Matt Barnes (10) being those two players. The Clippers improved to 29-14 with the win, and finally got back on the winning track after a tough loss in Indiana. Detroit on the other hand dropped to 17-24 with the loss, and are spiraling downwards in the Eastern Conference. Both of these teams appear to be playoff caliber teams, but they also both have work to do before they reach their full potential.
