After a flurry of offseason moves, lots of teams in the NBA will look vastly different than they did a year ago. One of the most noticeably changed teams will be the Philadelphia 76ers. They have put a new face on their franchise in former L.A. Laker Andrew Bynum and shipped off Andre Iguodala to Denver.
Iguodala was a great defender and one of the leaders of the team, but head coach Doug Collins said the team had gone as far as they could with their former cast.
“I personally thought we had maxed our team out I thought we were a team that every night played hard, we played terrific defense and if you looked at our team other than Andre Iguodala we really didn’t have a premier defensive player individual,” said Collins. “Michael Curry, what he did with our defense was spectacular. We didn’t have a dominant rebounder or shot blocker so to do the things that we did on the defensive end to give us a chance we thought was really, really good but we knew if we were going t...

Doug Collins Speaks On Andrew Bynum
“The day of the press conference we went back and he, I and Jason Richardson spent some time together along with some of the other people in the organization and I think for Drew, I think a big part of him is he’s excited to be coming home. He was out in LA and I don’t think he ever really fit into the LA scene. I talked to him the other day and he was ready to go over to...
Part 1: Game of Benches-Philadelphia 76ers
Let me first start by saying the 76ers have the deepest roster in the league. On any given night we could throw out everyone in uniform.

Collins Has No Concerns Regarding Bynum's Maturity
Andrew Bynum had an occasionally tumultuous time when with the Lakers, which had led some to question his maturity.
So, Andre Iguodala was almost a Toronto Raptor…..
Another great thing about the off-season, you start to hear stories of the “almost” trades that nearly happened, but something stopped them in their tracks. Similar to the reports that the Toronto Raptors were after a veteran player like Andre Iguodala or Rudy Gay, well seems Toronto almost traded for Iguodala via TSN: On [...]
