This was a very satisfying win for the Celtics.  I love it when there are a lot of Celtics fans in opposing buildings.  Atlanta seems to be the best for that.   Lots of Josh Smith hate.  I'm not really sure why Celtics fans are ready to give up a ton to get this guy when the fans that watch him night in and out don't like him.   A fun game and some fun comments.  As always, I've highlighted my favorites in bold.  What are yours?  Hopefully the old men will be tired after yesterday and we have the best 2nd night of a back to back record in the NBA THAT...would be an airball, Garnett Who does he think he is?! Josh Smith? Bass responds to Josh by showing that he CAN hit that.... Shut up, Pierce. Josh just punked you. I could hear Pierce crying from here Rondo shooting 3's... Lulz... This sequence just made me realize how few of Josh's blocks result in us getting the ball Still got love for JET, but I hope he's awful tonight. My favorite former Hawk currently in the league Keep shooting Rondo I wish we could staple Pierce's mouth shut. Holy hell...JASON COLLINS! He's actually started games for them. Forgot all about him....…thankfully Jason Collins is on the floor and we are not behind........ Now I know why the Celtics are struggling so much this year Collins scored. This ruins my day. And to think, there was a nice sized crowd on here that wanted Fab Melo Why can't this Teague show up most nights? I honestly don't get what the pushing and shoving is about, there Zaza leaned down and calmly tied him up for a jump ball, and then backed away. Who was the Boston player who charged in there acting pissed But really refused to actually get anywhere close to Zaza? Typical Garnett being Garnett An a-hole. How was that not travelling on Garnett Because it was Garnett I can't tell the difference between the crowd whistling and Paul Pierce running up the court. Brian Scalabrine an announcer now? Blowing a call is one thing but how do you blow a replay review? Where was the foul on Bass shoving Horford Been like that all night. Pierce pushing off too. Just glad they're fighting thru it. Geez -- thought Scott Wall had some money on Boston Hahaha Josh didn’t touch the ball, he slapped rondo in the face To be fair Rondo probably deserves that from time to time So of all the games for us to start hitting our threes I’m glad it’s against Boston and is this what it’s like to not get killed on the boards? Good lawd, what kinda Celtic defense was that They couldn't even get the ball to half court for the timeout Paul Pierce will probably play well into his forties That old man game will keep him around Hawks looked a bounce quicker in the first half.. .Celtics have that bounce now Four fouls on PP Really don't like that dude If this game were a horse, I'd be loading the pistol Does Boston have 7,000 fans at the arena? This sounds more like a crosstown rival high school game, than a home court for an NBA game. Sickening. More like 10,000 (if you include the 4,000) that don't care either way. The Celtics have had only one other game this season where they have had more OREB than this game. (17 against ORL -OT) Oh dear god how many times are you going to leave a Celtic on the right baseline... Josh is looking absolutely lost out there. We are falling into a Paul Pierce trap. It is disgusting me. Just hit the guy! He has made a living off of just bullying his way into a shot that he wants. If this quarter is representative of the NBA as a whole Paul Pierce is the best basketball player in history, and the Hawks are a high school team. Their acting like he's the pope! Just once I would like to see a flagrant II foul on Paul Pierce. Just to show that you care. We gave up a ton of points, but we made up for it by not scoring much. Just outworking us Josh Smith...you caused that. Get the ball to a guard on a break. WHY DO YOU NOT DO THIS???? Smith three. Playing his game and killing us. Josh Smith is an embarrassment Damn . . . Pierce fouled Korver out quick Ivan Johnson coming in. This will end poorly for someone Lou fouled twice clearly and they call a jump ball Typical BS you have to deal with when you play Boston and Miami Josh can't even dribble with nobody on him. Need to get josh the hell out of this game Josh...things you need to stop doing: 1. Dribbling. 2. Shooting jumpers. 3. Pretending you know how to pass. 4. Leading a fast break. 5. Sucking. I give up officially on josh It will never get any better. Time to send our remaining Joe Johnson packing Screw it, this one is on me I claimed last night that we’re a better team than the Celtics this year. I don’t know why this should surprise me after a comment like that Josh...that's one of the worst shots I have seen. You are NOT the answer here. Josh..... Did I just see that? Just a stupid hopeless excuse for a star basketball player Too easy for Rondo Celtics been horrible all season and then they beat us, F*** this Listen to all of those Boston fans . . . Sickening [Discuss on CG Forums!]

Green Envy: What Knicks fans said - 1/7

Maybe the greatest win of the season so far? I haven't really had a lot of ill will against the Knicks, but maybe that's because the Celtics always beat the Knicks. Reading through the comments, it's pretty evident that that's why. The Knicks fans hate the Celtics. It's great to see how much they fear Paul Pierce. It seems like Pierce always has great games at...

Underrated Stat of the Night - Hawks 1/5

It was 8:11 PM: I had just finished writing my halftime update, when I went to do something else. I accepted that they had lost. It was time to move on. But, I turn on the game mid-way through the third and Sullinger makes a lay up. The lay up gave the Celtics a 61-60 lead. I was shocked to see this sudden turnaround and rushed to my computer to write the update once the quarter...

Celtics suffocate Hawks 89-81, behind Rondo's triple double and Pierce's big night

If the Boston Celtics do in fact go on to great things this season, tonight's game in Atlanta will featured prominently on the team's Championship DVD. The Celtics pulled out the 89-81 victory, despite falling down by as many...

Celtics break losing streak, beat Pacers 94-75

The Celtics got their first win of 2013 with a 94-75 win against the Pacers in Boston. This was the best defense the Celtics have played all season. If only they could string a few of these together. Boston started off slow, scoring only scored 15 points in the 1st quarter, but still managed to only be down 1 at the end of the quarter.  They stayed in the game with outstanding...

The Celtics we saw last night could win the NBA title, Version 2.0

Click here to read the original version from yesterday.  In the first half last night the Celtics played exactly as you might expect for a team on the road against a quality opponent on night two of a back to back, and they trailed the Hawks by 15 at the break.  But it the second half Boston exhibited the same defensive intensity we saw the day before against the Pacers.
