Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
New York Knicks
It always amazes me when there is a team like the Hawks that is playing well and yet their fans aren't really behind them. Unlike the Raptors, who aren't playing so well, yet have over a hundred pages on 3 or 4 different boards, it's hard to find an active game thread for the Hawks. I mean, even the Bobcats have a more loyal following than the Hawks. I say, move the Hawks to Seattle and then everybody's happy. Most telling are the comments about Josh Smith. I don't want him on the Celtics. Hawks fans, who have watched him day in and day out don't like him, so, why would we want him? Enjoy today's comments....
We need to smash these guys. It all comes down to which Jeff Teague shows up tonight.
We need to play through Horford tonight, Bass won't have a chance at guarding him
Magic and Simmons gave the Hawks a little credit. Hope we don’t make them look stupid.
Wow, the crowd really went nuts over a Paul Pierce three Maybe Atlanta really is a crappy basketball audience.
We double a covered garnett and allow pierce a wide open 3?? Uh, F*** this. And while i’m at it, deshawn should just go join a retirement home
How do you guard Paul Pierce? Just a little gap in the mid-range and he’s going up with it. Josh did his best there.
Do what the hawks do. Leave him open
Okay, we're not playing poor defense I think the Celtics are just on fire with their shooting.
Is Jeff Green to be added to the Hawk Killer list?
Pierce is going to feast on the three point line with josh guarding him
And he feasts on the free throw line Because he always does, and especially against us.
I will always miss Jason terry
Not when he's hitting 3's against the Hawks.
Home-court whistles tonight.
Jeff Green looks like a player from the early 90's And it’s not just because of the haircut
To me he's always had a bit of a Len Bias look about him, especially since he's in a Boston uni now.
Finally a freaking call on Cs They are fouling all over on D and not being called for it
Crawford has loads of talent, honestly But he still could use some serious coaching up, and a bit of restraint.
Man. Avery Bradley is a Helluva defender. We gotta get one of those guys next year. Great defender, but still a threat on offense.
I hate watching Josh Smith play basketball.
Hell of an up and under move by KG on Al. He looked like Kevin McHale right there.
If we lose by three or less, I'm gonna look back on that KG three like "seriously?" Then I'm gonna look at Josh's shot chart, with disdain.
Bradley is fouling every time
I hope KG is recognizing who Jeff Teague is now.
I'm beginning to think that maybe josh is just worried about filling his stat sheet rather than win games. His stat stuffing ways has been around even when the hawks had losing seasons, like he fills the stats despite the team. The Celtics are guarding the hell out of the three point line and you don’t want to challenge the middle?
He's going for a max contract, of course he is looking to fill his stats.
Am I the only person who saw Garnett practically molesting Al?
i’m getting used to garnett getting away with murder
6-20 on threes for now.
that's what happens when a good defensive team guards the line
I think it's what happens when Josh Smith, Anthony Tolliver, and Devin Harris take a lot of threes
They are all Career “shouldntbeshootingfromthereallthetimeanyway from three”
Josh, if you're 2-7 from three You’re actually NOT having a good shooting night.
Korver can't stay in front of Pierce.
This could be first round match up
Hopefully Pierce and KG old legs catch up with them
Can we stop having Devin throw lobs please?
Sign Bibby to a one-second contract for scenarios like this
Gotta drive the basket The Celtics are tired
Is it me, or does Smith stunk in late game situations?
I hate the refs so much, they bailed Garnett out 3 times in OT. The refs have ruined this sport for me
Pierce, do just one thing for me that makes me happy: Retire. NOW.
These shots Pierce is hitting....Damn.
Josh elicits so many unprintable words from me sometimes
Four turnovers in overtime By Employee Number Five.
Why do Celtics fans want Josh so much? They like subjecting themselves to such madness?
They already have Jordan Crawford, might as well go for broke.
Already had Rasheed Wallace, too So at this point, it’s like “What the hell.”
He's a close friend of Rondo... Personally I think it would give the Celtics two prima donnas
I hope Boston faces Miami at some point in the playoffs and get destroyed. I hate them so much!!
I admit that I've fantasized about spitting on each one of the Celtics' graves
Jason Terry is dead to me

Unthinkable as it may seem given his recent stellar play, Paul Pierce will one day play his final game in a Celtics uniform.
That could be as soon as this summer, in fact. The Celtics have a $5 million buyout in Pierce’s contract, which becomes guaranteed for more than $15 million if he is still on the roster come July. The team therefore has to decide whether the $10 million savings...
The Boston Celtics ultimately held onto veteran players Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, as well as guard Rajon Rondo, through this season’s trade deadline. However, the club nearly dealt Pierce in a three-team trade that also involved the Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. As much as any of the proposed deals discussed in February...
Paul Pierce was very nearly traded for Josh Smith at the deadline. We knew that Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were both in danger of being traded at the deadline this season, but according to Yahoo!’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who is usually right about such things, the deal may have been as close as Pierce has come to leaving the Celtics in his career. From the Yahoo! article:Before the...
The Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Hawks had another overtime showdown on Friday night, and luckily the Celtics escaped without any torn ACLs. Boston came out victorious by a margin of 107-102, and Paul Pierce led the Celtics' scoring with 27 points.

There was no brilliantly devised play call this time. If the Celtics’ last gut-check victory was an example of Paul Pierce‘s abilities as a $17 million decoy, their latest was a reminder in exactly why Doc Rivers usually puts the ball in this guy’s hands in the clutch.
The most polarizing topic among Celtics fans might not be whether the team is better without Rajon Rondo or...

There is a famous scene in “Star Wars: A New Hope” where Han Solo and Chewbacca are fleeing from an angry and clumsy group of Stormtroopers trying to make their way to the Milennium Falcon. As they are running down the corridor, you can hear one of the troopers yell ‘CLOSE THE BLAST DOORS!’ As the doors are slowly closing, Han and Chewie hop through cleanly, leaving all...
The Boston Celtics took care of business on the defensive end Sunday in a 91-79 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but weren't successful on the offensive end. The Celtics held the Thunder to 44.1 percent shooting and didn't let
Sorry for such a late recap folks. Our staff are tied-up tonight, either travelling for Sunday’s big bash, or getting things prepared for it. I was actually at the Garden and just got to work myself, but wanted to log-on real quick & give you all a place to talk/comment on/be excited about tonight’s win. I have not seen any of the highlights, with the exception of a few YouTube...
After their thrilling win over the Pacers, the Celtics will head home for a meeting with the Hawks. The Hawks currently sit a game ahead of Boston for the six seed in the east, so this one will be very important. Recently, the C's have looked unbeatable at home, and I kinda expect that to continue. The only reason why I won't guarantee a win is because you can't. Last...

Players are graded on a curve
Kevin Garnett: 10 Points, 11 Rebounds

Scouts don't like Boston's chances against Miami.ESPN’s basketball scribe Marc Stein caught up with several NBA scouts on his Weekend Dime, and one Eastern Conference scout didn’t have good things to say about the Boston’s chances against the Heat.Eastern Conference scout on the ceiling for the Rajon Rondo-less Celtics:“I’ll buy your [contention] that they’re...
There is no love lost between the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics. Ever since the teams clashed through seven hard-fought games in the first round of the 2008 Playoffs, it seems, both teams have had each others' number. There have been matchups, dustups and confrontations - with notable incidents involving Paul Pierce and Al Horford, Jeff Teague and Ray Allen (to which KG...
