Hornets fans aren't quite as obnoxious as Heat or Knick fans but they hate on the Celtics just like everyone else. The theme seems to be that the Celtics are old and nothing the Celtics have done seems to disprove that. I think it's more of a chemistry problem right now because of lack of training camp and because of injuries. Hopefully the Celtics win Friday or these comments are going to go from being fun to downright depressing! Celtics is another old team and we got young legs now. I think we have a great chance of winning and extending our streak to 2 games. Its gonna be a rough one though with rondo but jack might be able to slow him a bit It'll be tougher if Paul Pierce plays, if they have to start Sasha Pavlovic again I'm thinking were gonna be all right Ray Allen is my favoite player I hope he put up 50 with a L KG will be in that number. The NBA decided not to punish him for putting his hands on Walkers neck. I wonder who he will try p...

Video: Rajon Rondo airballs layup

Stop talking Rondo for Westbrook trade, it’s a bad idea

In the wake of Russell Westbrook having a spat with Kevin Durant while at the same time the Boston Celtics are off to an 0-3 start, there’s been all sports of buzz on the Internet and talk radio about a Westbrook for Rajon Rondo trade. Stop it. Let it go. It doesn’t work. And it’s…

Will the Improved Play of Rajon Rondo Be Enough to Carry the Celtics?

How old is too old? The Boston Celtics could very well answer that question for us this season.  Since the Celtics won the title in 2008, there has always been talk of the current season being the Big Three’s “last chance.”  Experts said it two years ago when Boston lost in the NBA Finals.  They also said it last season and many are going with it again this year...

Thoughts I thought – Celtics pick up their first win

Paul Pierce's return to the line-up was the big story for the Celtics against the Pistons Thoughts I thought Paul Pierce’s return was easily the most important thing these Boston Celtics needed to finally get into the win column. It was clear from the get go that Paul Pierce was trying to be aggressive and prove that he was ready to return. He got to the basket, got himself...

Rondo Phone Home

by Matt Domino / @PuddlesofMyself Rajon Rondo is an alien. I mean that in the best way possible. He has freakishly large hands, abnormally long arms and moves around the basketball court getting his shot at angles that most “human” players can’t get to. Watching Rajon Rondo play basketball is a joy. The New York Knicks beat the Boston Celtics 106-104 on Christmas Day, the NBA’s...

Paul Pierce Returns, Celtics Win

Perhaps all the Boston Celtics needed was their best player. Losers of their first three games this season, the Celtics welcomed back Paul Pierce and then welcomed themselves to the win column with a 96-85 victory over the Detroit Pistons. In his debut, Pierce had 12 points, five assists and four rebounds. He hit half of his eight shots from the field and both of his free throws...

Celtics to get tested early tonight against the Heat

The Celtics will (reportedly) again be without Captain Paul Pierce tonight as they take their talents to South Beach to face the defending Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat at American Airlines Arena. Doc Rivers also mentioned that newly acquired Mickael Pietrus was about 10 days away as he rehabs a knee injury. Sasha Pavlovic will [...]

Pierce returns, Celtics beat Pistons for first win

Jermaine O'Neal scored 19 points, Paul Pierce added 12 in his season debut, and the Boston Celtics ended a dismal start to their season with a 96-85 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.

Doc Rivers: Paul Pierce Likely Not Playing Tonight Against Miami Heat

According to head coach Doc Rivers, the Boston Celtics will be without their star forward Paul Pierce, as they travel to Miami (Sasha Pavlovic is expected to start in Pierce’s spot.) From ESPN: “Boston Celtics captain Paul Pierce worked out Monday and experienced limited soreness in his bruised right heel, but coach Doc Rivers does not believe Pierce will be ready to...

Comments From the Other Side - Heat 12/27

As always, the comments are not quite as much fun when we lose, but there are some fun ones. It's interesting when the Heat fans are mentioning how many bad calls are going against the Celtics. That's when you know the officiating is REALLY bad. Enjoy today's comments in spite of the loss... Time to beat these Boston crumb-bums into the retirement home. We need...

Pistons-Celtics Preview

The Boston Celtics continue to flounder without Paul Pierce. The Celtics will be trying to avoid their worst start in 42 years Friday night in their home opener against the Detroit Pistons in a matchup of winless teams. Boston (0-3) last dropped its first four games in the 1969-70 season. There's no word on a possible return for Pierce, who is out with a bone bruise in his...

Boston Celtics 96, Detroit Pistons 85

The Celtics shot 52.2% from the floor and they were up 86-64 after three quarters, so the Pistons never really mounted much of a challenge.  Jermaine O’Neal shot 7 of 9 from the floor last night as he led the way for the Celtics with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocked shots.  Ray Allen (17 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists and 1 steal) and Brandon Bass (17 points and...

The Heat win against Boston, but lack the finishing touch

The Miami Heat picked up their second win at home against the Boston Celtics in the absence of F Paul Pierce, winning in emphatic fashion after once again coughing up a big lead in the fourth quarter. Instead of the Heat’s Big Three, or Miami Thrice of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh, it was rookie PG Norris Cole who led the way with 14 points in the fourth including...

The Starting Lineup: Wolves, Kings Still Have Work To Do

Highlight Recap: Wade denies Allen at the rim, Bosh throws it down.  Rajon Rondo is pretty fast, but LeBron is faster.  Marcus Camby erases a shot by DeMarcus Cousins.  Brandon Jennings with a high-percentage shot.  Kobe tools on Raja Bell and the Jazz.  McBob gets up for a lob.  Al Horford doesn’t jump very well, but he eked this one in.  Metta… World… PEACE...
