Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
It's always sad for me to see fans rooting for a loss in order to tank for a better draft choice. I've never quite been able to get to the point where I want my team to lose, for any reason. I can understand other fans not liking Tommy's Celtics homerism, but to wish harm on him is pretty classless. The guy has 10 rings as both player and coach and has forgotten more about basketball than most fans have ever known. Show some respect, even though you don't agree with his love of the Celtics. Loved the video from way back - Johnny Most makes Tommy look impartial. Nice to get the win! Enjoy today's comments.
Don't look now Pistons fans but the Pistons have been playing .500 ball their last 2 games!
Lawrence "Tank" sits Calderon this game due to a sore right arm.. . See what happens when you help win a game....you get punished the next game
Hoping that Boston find away to beat us this game, don't see it happening though, we're probably going to sweep them for this season
Always have to hope we beat the Celts It’s just in my Pistons DNA.
Loved the video of Most whining. Yeah, a couple of those plays were rough, but on several it’s the same pushing and shoving stuff you see now in the post. But I guess since it was the Celtics, Most figured our guys should give them ingraved invitations and then escort them to the basket.
It seems like we always beat Celtics. Even last season we gave them a tough time.
They can't keep us off the offensive boards
Drummond already dominating Oh my god he's so good.
Is Calderon out or was he benched in favor of B Knight/Stuck?
He's out with a hand injury (or arm, I don't remember)
That's what "they" want you to think... Also, Lee Harvey Oswald was innocent.
Tonight is must lose for tank purposes. I have a feeling we win by double digits though.
Celtics announcers aren't as bad to listen to as most people say.
Green is a beast. Don't remember him being this athletic or talented in OKC.
That Terrance Williams guy looks familiar. He looks better than Knight running a team.
Williams can play the 1,2 or 3, has great court vision, is a very good passer, can slash or score from outside, is a very good defender and a good rebounder.
The Celtics going deep in the playoffs is wishful thinking on their part.
Shavlik Randolph is white?
He played for Dook. Of course he is.
Tommy Heinsohn is the embodiment of everything that sucks about Boston The team and the city.
No one's listening to Frank anymore
April MVP Stuckey getting Wade calls
I forgot Crawford was on the c's . Didn't he once say he could be MJ?
Yeah, that's why I call him Michael Jordan Crawford.
Lol, C's announcer getting a little homeristic about the foul calls
How does stuckey even get calls, that looked like a clean block
Stuckey and Knight competing for most incompetent guard? It seems like a chuck fest between them two.
The Celtic announcers don't F***ing know anything about the Pistons
These guys are g** damn clowns. ********.
I don't even know what this dude is trying to say with all that fumbling and mumbling
Allow me to sum it up for you: CELTICS RULE, PISTERS DROOL
Dear Lawrence, I would like you to notice how your previous head coach still has his main starters in the game even with a large lead, some even with 3 fouls. Thank you.
I figured out why the Pistons are bad It is because when they throw the ball at the basket, it does not often go in. They should work on that.
I just heard Charlie shout "****!" Any chance the FCC will arrest him and the Pistons can void the last year of the contract?
I would not mind Jeff green
Avery "The Next Dumars" Bradley
I hope we don't come back to win this
Since when is Jeff Green a good player? I’m confused.
Rebounding is why the Pistons are in this game.
Attn: Brandon Knight If you got rid of the contacts and started rocking old school goggles, I’d hate you slightly less.
I don't like Charlie Villanueva. Whoever decided to keep him in the rotation should be fired.
Why isn't Drummond in now?
Charlie V preserving the tank
CV is driving the tank.
I hate how Frank thinks he has to stick with Charlie just because we have been on a comback.
Paul pierce such a beast
You can't hold Stuckey's hand. Sorry Bradley. he's just not into you
Its called fighting for position Celtics announcers
DIE HEINSOHN DIE IN A CAR FIRE
Seriously, Jeff Green? What the hell? Since when did he stop sucking?
So frank doesn't play drummond in the 4th qtr??? He hasn't played in the 4th since he became a starter I really dislike his coaching.
Green has been pretty damn good for the last few months.
The Celtics are just flat out stupid. Let JJ take that shot. They keep closing hard and get beat on the baseline. Poor use of the scouting report.
Tommy Heinsohn wants to foul everyone out
Did tommy just have a stroke?
The SF position is in pretty good hands in Boston.
I'd say better than our situation , however Green has yet to be consistent
Is Avery Bradley supposed to be a good defender? Stuckey has been abusing him since the game started
Brandon Knight is the worst player in the NBA.
I could kick Knight and Villanueva right now.
Please don't win.
We need to lose this game!!!
I swear I just saw Frank sporting a “Damn. If I hadn’t inexplicably benched Jerebko for half the season, I could possibly have a job next year.” look.
Pretty sure they just had to mute Heinsohn's mic after that Pierce foul
I thought he was having some sort of heart attack or aneurysm.
We can only hope
Charlie Villanueva gets to play the whole god damn quarter while shooting 2-15, and Drummond sees nothing. Say it with me now. Ahem FIRE FRANK. FIRE FRANK. FIRE FRANK. FIRE FRANK.
Kind of awesome numbers-- CV and Knight with four baskets in 59 and a half minutes. On 26 damn shots.
Charlie was 2 of 17 from the field It takes a lot to suck that bad
My word get us some Jeff Green....dude is killing it.
Jeff green post allstar stats: 17 points, %50 FG, 41.3 3FG
Reen is just a flat out beast.
I'm glad we lost but I'm so tired of Frank. I don't think I can handle another year of these rotations.
The tank is in cruise control oladipo here we come
Fun game to watch and we loose. Double plus!
If Drummond is healthy, Franks should've coached his last game with the Pistons. Terrible coaching as usual from Franks.
I'm pretty sure he got banged up on the Jeff green play. When green pushed him out of bounds. When I was watching I thought he did & I didn't see him get in the game after that
The evidence is starting to pile up that Knight has taken tanking to a whole new level... First fouling DeAndre Jordan & now missing wide open layups! He may be ahead of his time

Jeff Green has been playing the basketball of his life. His emergence is one of the few positive signs that the Celtics nation can hold onto going into the Playoffs. How well has he been playing? Steve Bulpett of Boston Herald has an interesting piece of stats:
Green is averaging 21.4 points in his 10 games as a starter, a figure that would make him the Celtics’ overall leader...
Iron Man did it again! Jeff Green has put up another monstrous performance with 34 points (13-19 FG), 6 rebounds and 4 blocks and the Celtics avoided getting swept by the Pistons in regular season for the first time since 2006-07. Green's numbers are impressive by themselves, but it should also be mentioned that a few of those points and rebounds were really, really crucial....
Jeff Green has been all smiles since March hitDoc Rivers spoke in practice about Green’s starting gig once KG gets back, saying that he has wanted to start the Georgetown product for quite some time, but his play has only recently justified that decision (via ESPN Boston):“I was hoping (to start Green consistently at some point),” Rivers said. “That was my intention. We weren’t...
Poor Brandon Knight. When he’s not playing the role of punching bag in other players’ highlight reels, the equally cruel blooper reel is just waiting to swoop in. Thanks to two posters — one of the ankle-breaking variety, one of the Lob City variety — which have garnered countless millions of YouTube views, the Detroit Pistons guard was already having a nightmarish sophomore...
Iron Man Jeff Green came to play last night, registering 34 points (on 13-of-19 shooting, including 3-of-4 from behind the arc), 6 rebounds and 4 blocks in leading the Celtics past the Pistons, 98-93. Green's been on a tear in the past 10 games (featuring 8 starts), averaging 21.6 points, 5.5 boards, 3.2 assists and 1.6 blocks as his confidence clearly develops. And while...
8 a.m. ET: The last time the Celtics and Cavaliers met up, Jeff Green provided a thrilling ending. The Celtics would probably prefer if things were not so exciting this time.
Having snapped their two-game losing streak with a victory over the Pistons on Wednesday, the Celtics (39-36) are back in action. Their opponent is the Cavs (22-52), who are having a forgettable season despite...
Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Knight has been straight up owning the lowlight reels this year. When the 2012-2013 NBA season comes to a close, the 21-year-old could very well see himself as a repeat offender on lists of the most humiliating plays of the season.
As you can see, Knight had himself a wide open layup late in the fourth quarter of his team’s loss to the Boston Celtics...
Jeff Green scored 34 points, including a 3-pointer with 45 seconds left to snap Boston's two-minute scoring drought, and the Celtics clinched a playoff berth by beating the Detroit Pistons 98-93 on Wednesday night.
Paul Pierce and Brandon Bass scored 17 apiece for the Celtics, who had lost two in a row and seven of their previous nine. But the victory, coupled with Philadelphia...
This play by Brandon Knight of the epitomizes the Detroit Pistons. This is a team that has jumped out ahead in some many games, only to falter in the end. Just as Knight did here off this steal against the Celtics. Way ahead, and then… Trey Burke or Victor Oladipo can’t come soon enough H/T LBS
Jeff Green has made quite a name for himself while helping fill in for the injured Kevin Garnett.
He may need to step up even more with Paul Pierce banged up, too.
Green looks to build on another terrific effort as the playoff-bound Boston Celtics host the Cleveland Cavaliers, who try to avoid an 11th consecutive loss Friday night.
Green, who burst onto the scene with a career...
The Celtics returned home to take on the Detroit Pistons Wednesday night at the TD Garden. With a win tonight and a 76er loss on the road the Celtics would clinch a playoff spot. The team did just that but they sure don't make things easy on themselves. Led by a huge night from Jeff Green, who finished with 34 points, the Celtics snuck by Detroit 98-93.
The Pistons really...
BOSTON — The doubts are raised after every disappointing shooting night. In some cases, they pop up even more suddenly, such as any offensive possession that passes without a replay-worthy dunk. Jeff Green exists in only two versions in the eyes of some observers: the game-dominating freak of nature or the milquetoast waste of four years and $36 million weighing down a Celtics...

The Boston Celtics’ forthcoming future ultimately weighs on the remaining games on their schedule, and specifically how the newcomers and veterans on the team can collaborate to flash off the true Celtic green.
Whether Kevin Garnett returns to the line up remains to be at question, but what is known is the camaraderie and chemistry...
First off, it was great to hear that the whole team, Rajon Rondo, Sully, and KG included were on the court today as the Celtics honored members of the military. The photo above shows members of the Air Force presenting a flag that was flown in the Middle East to Doc and the team.
Second, Paul Pierce didn't practice today, but it wasn't related to the personal reasons that...
With a game like this, following a losing skid that has seen the Celtics drop 7 of their past 10 game, it would be easy to blame the injuries to Garnett or any other member of this decimated team but these recent losses are starting to become a cause for concern. The team is limping towards the playoffs and is in danger of losing its position in the seeding. To make matters worse...
