LOS ANGELES -- After an All-Star season in which he led the NBA in steals, with 2.4 per game, Clippers point guard Chris Paul was named on Monday to the NBA All-Defensive First Team.
Paul received 37 total votes (15 first place and seven second place) from the leagues coaches, who vote for the award. Joining him on the First Team are Miamis LeBron James, Oklahoma Citys Serge Ibaka, Memphiss Tony Allen, New Yorks Tyson Chandler and Chicagos Joakim Noah.
Paul was named to the All-Defensive First Team in 2009 and 2012. He made the Second Team in 2008 and 2011, and hes the only Clipper in franchise history to be named to an All-Defensive Team.
The All-Defensive Second Team this season comprises San Antonios Tim Duncan, Indianas Paul George, Memphiss Marc Gasol, Bostons Avery Bradley and Memphiss Mike Conley. For the second consecutive year, the leagues Defensive Player of the Year has failed to make the All-Defensive First Team; in 2012, Chanlder won DPOY and was relegated to the Second Team, and this spring, Gasol suffered the same fate. (Writers vote on the DPOY, whereas coaches votes determine the All-Defensive Teams.)
The only other Clipper to receive an All-Defensive Team vote was Eric Bledsoe, who received one second-place vote.

I believe 95% of the time these guys are just trying to get away from TMZ, so I wouldn’t make too much of this. Definitely no guarantee that CP3 re-signs with the Clippers, but they are still the frontrunner at this point.
After a surprising first round exit, the questions surrounding the Los Angeles Clippers all off-season will center on point guard Chris Paul and his future. Paul is an unrestricted free agent and has his choice of teams as he is sure to have many suitors once the free agency period opens up. So when TMZ [...]
DRAW 'EM TO DALLAS
With the Mavericks missing the playoffs for the first time since 2000, Dirk Nowitzki hopes the team sets its sights on either Dwight Howard or Chris Paul.
Chris Paul. Derrick Rose. Russell Westbrook. Rajon Rondo. Deron Williams. These are all names you hear when NBA fans discuss who the top Point Guards in the league are. Every time I hear this conversation, there’s always one name that is missing that should be included on this list, and that name is Mike Conley [...]

The NBA announced it’s All Defensive first team today. Tony Allen, Chris Paul, Joakim Noah/Tyson Chandler (tied), Serge Ibaka, and LeBron James were on the first team.
Avery Bradley made the second team. Here’s how that second team looks:
Tim Duncan, San Antonio
Paul George, Indiana
I don’t think Dwight Howard would help the Mavericks that much. They would make the playoffs, but if they are talking about making another run to the Finals, I think Chris Paul is the player they want to focus on.
Dirk just wants any type of help he can get, here is what he had to say about CP3 and Dwight courtesy of Pro Basketball Talk.
We’d love to get one of those two. We’d...
The 2012-13 NBA All-Defensive First Team consists of guards Tony Allen (highest votes – 53) and Chris Paul, forwards LeBron James (second highest votes – 52) and Serge Ibaka, as well as both Tyson Chandler Joakim Noah whose votes tied for the center position.

The Dallas Mavericks have had two relatively difficult seasons since winning The Finals in 2011.
The Mavericks were eliminated in the first round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs and didn't qualify in 2013.
The Mavericks were unable to sign Deron Williams last offseason and are hoping to have better success this offseason in signing either Dwight Howard or Chris Paul.

The NBA’s All-Defensive Team was announced yesterday, rewarding LeBron James, Chris Paul, Tyson Chandler, Joakim Noah and Tony Allen as standout floor-slappers (Allen led the voting). Notice anyone missing? How bout the league’s Defensive POY? Marc Gasol was left on the 2nd team. Raising the question…..um, what?
