LOS ANGELES -- Lost in the hype of two other major Los Angeles arrivals -- with the Lakers' Dwight Howard and Steve Nash demanding most of the attention during the offseason -- Jamal Crawford's signing by the Los Angeles Clippers went largely unnoticed. Crawford found the spotlight Wednesday. The 32-year-old guard had a game-high 29 points, and the Clippers broke away from the Memphis Grizzlies late to take a 101-92 win at Staples Center in the season opener for both teams. A rematch of the teams' hotly contested 2012 first-round playoff matchup, won by the Clippers in seven games, Wednesday's game was chippy from the start. Both teams doled out hard fouls, and the score remained close for much of the night. A Crawford 3-pointer with 2:41 left put the Clippers up by six, though, and the Grizzlies never got closer. "It was crazy in there," said Los Angeles forward Blake Griffin, who had 11 points and seven rebounds. "Their team is extremely phys...

Jamal Crawford's slick moves drop Rudy Gay
Jamal Crawford has handles, and he showed them off on Halloween night when his Clippers took on the Grizzlies. With the score tied 83-83 mid-way through the fourth quarter Jamal took the ball at the top of the key, bounced off a screen, and shook Rudy Gay with a fake crossover. Rudy hit the deck hard, and we mean hard. Check out the footage below. H/T TBJ Article found on: Cosby Sweaters
HEY MAN NICE SHOT
Dwight Howard blows first dunk attempt
The biggest story of the NBA off-season was the Los Angeles Lakers acquiring arguably the best center in the NBA, Dwight Howard. Pairing Howard with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Steve Nash has the Lakers primed to make a run at the Finals this season. However, early in the first quarter of Tuesday night’s season opener against the Dallas Mavericks, Howard got the ball in great position...
Nash out another week with leg injury
Steve Nash has a small fracture in his left leg and will be out of the Los Angeles Lakers' lineup for at least another week.
The Lakers announced the results of the point guard's MRI exam Saturday.
Nash got hurt in a collision with Portland rookie Damian Lillard on Wednesday night. He missed the Lakers' 105-95 loss to the Clippers on Friday night, dropping the Lakers...
Lakers Injury News: Steve Nash Suffers Leg Injury in Loss
It's been a while since the Los Angeles Lakers have won a game. Â They lost every one of their preseason games and have now lost their first two regular season games. Â To top things off, they saw Steve Nash go down to an injury - hopefully a minor injury. According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles, Nash suffered a lower leg contusion in the second quarter of last night...
Crawford powers Clippers in opener
Jamal Crawford scored 29 points in 30 minutes in his first official game with his new team, and the Los Angeles Clippers converted 21 turnovers into 29 points Wednesday night in a 101-92 victory that extended the Memphis Grizzlies' NBA-record streak of opening-night losses to 12.
Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, who had 12 assists, were among six Clippers to score in double figures...
Video: Jamal Crawford breaks Rudy Gay’s ankles
Tweet There was a full lineup of NBA action Wednesday with highlights galore. One that stood out was new Clipper guard Jamal Crawford mixing up Rudy Gay with a nice handle before causing Gay to fall: Crawford even hit the shot for good measure. The Clippers cruised to the 101-92 victory with Crawford pouring in [...]
Steve Nash hurts left knee against Blazers
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- In just his second game with the Los Angeles Lakers, veteran guard Steve Nash injured his left knee against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Nash appeared to bump knees with Blazers rookie guard Damian Lillard late in the first half Wednesday night and limped off the court. He was helped to the locker room.
The Lakers initially reported the injury was not serious...
Nash Suffers Left Leg Contusion
Steve Nash bruised his left leg late in the second quarter of the Lakers' 116-106 loss to the Blazers.
Big Baby ready for starring role
Last year when Dwight Howard went down with a back injury, Glen Davis really stepped up in his absence. Davis’ numbers went up and he averaged 19 points a game in the Magic’s first round playoff loss to the Indiana Pacers. With Howard shipped off to L.A., Davis is hoping his streak of solid play will continue, and he’ll become the go to guy in Orlando. Never short on confidence...
Steve Nash's Bruised Knee, Kobe Bryant's Strained Foot Are Hardly Reasons Enough to Bury Lakers Already
We do not come to bury the Lakers. We do not quite come to praise them, either.
Now that everyone knows the Lakers are not going to go 82-0,
the most popular NBA parlor game has become dismissing their championship hopes
entirely. To be sure, their start has been awful, both on paper and on the court. Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard entered the season with
injuries concerns and...

Mavericks 99, Lakers 91
LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Lakers discovered on opening night that four superstars does not a team make. The Dallas Mavericks, meanwhile, discovered life without their one star isn't quite so glum. With Dirk Nowitzki out after knee surgery, Dallas marched into Staples Center and spoiled the Lakers debuts of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, taking a 99-91 win Tuesday. It...

Starting 5: Heat raise a banner
Every morning, we will give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day.
1: Banner Day for Heat
Miami got its championship rings and raised its championship banner for opening night. The focus though after the rings were handed out was squarely on ring No. 2 (not three, not four...).
The Heat blitzed the Celtics and made the new-look Celtics look...
