PLAYERS:
Cuttino Mobley
At age 36, Cuttino Mobley is pretty young to have been retired from basketball for about three years. You may recall that an unfortunate heart problem forced him to hang up his kicks after the ’08/09 season, despite the fact that he was still good for better than 13 points a night. How many guys go out on a 23-point, 11-20 effort? Not many.
All of that being said, an uninformed fan observing yesterday afternoon’s Clipper game probably wouldn’t have given him a year under 40. As a matter of fact, I can see how they may have assumed that he hasn’t played ball in 10 or 15 years, at least. Take a look at that outfit and try and tell me Stevie Franchise’s ex-boyfriend would’ve drawn a second glance if he were to have strolled through one of those gated senior communities down in Florida. He would’ve blended right in at the golf course, a Corvette convention, or maybe even a bingo game. From the white pants to the blue hat, that’s a straight up grandpa fit.
