Fox Sports West:
New Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni is indeed a go to be on the court Tuesday night as the Lakers host the Brooklyn Nets, team spokesman John Black has confirmed.
After a false start Sunday that gave Bernie Bickerstaff a chance to pad his record as winningest coach in franchise history (by percentage), D'Antoni finally will take over, eight days after signing with the team.
D'Antoni's on-court debut with the Lakers has been delayed by his recovery from knee-replacement surgery a few weeks ago. On Monday, he appeared without crutches to speak with the media.
Since Mike Brown was relieved of his coaching duties, the Lakers have won four of five games. In each victory the team scored more than 100 points but in the last two, under the influence of D'Antoni, the team averaged 116.5 points a game.
D'Antoni has said he expects the Lakers to score 110 to 115 points a night.
They'll have to do it without Steve Nash for now because the team's star point guard is still recovering from a non-displaced knee fracture. Steve Blake is also questionable, with an abdominal strain.
BEST OF MAXIM
OF COURSE HE DID
Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Nash was caught doing the 'Gangman Style' dance sitting on the bench next to Steve Blake at the Staples Center during the Lakers-Rockets Sunday showdown. The Lakers beat the Rockets 119-108. Kobe Bryant recorded his 18th triple-double with 22 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds. "I'm a scorer, not a triple-double player," said Kobe Bryant.
The first time Lakers star Kobe Bryant brought out the “death stare” this season, it got Mike Brown fired. I don’t know what will happen to Jeremy Lin over the next few days but one this is certain…it won’t be good.

Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant both had impressive games Sunday night as Durant racked up his first triple-double and showed the legions of not-so-smart social media sports fans, he does more than just score. The Lakers are on a roll.
Los Angeles is 4-1 since the firing of Mike Brown, and with new coach Mike D’Antoni in tow, is running a new up-tempo offense that seems to be serving Kobe Bryant and Co. well. And it’s doing it all without the presence of point guard Steve Nash.
Well, Nash was in attendance, wearing a suit, on Sunday as the Lakers beat the Houston Rockets 119-108, and...
Ever since Mike D'Antoni got a new knee and a new job in rapid succession earlier this month, his life has been a jumble of unfamiliar faces, grueling rehabilitation sessions and anonymous hotel rooms.

Mike D'Antoni has postponed his Lakers coaching debut, still trying to recover from recent knee surgery. The duties will once again fall on Bernie Bickerstaff as interim head coach when the Lakers play the Houston Rockets on Sunday night at Staples Center.

Boston Celtics Coach Doc Rivers gave his take on the Lakers' coaching change to Chris Russo (SirusXM's Mad Dog Radio) on Tuesday, criticizing the organization for their handling of Phil Jackson.
"I didn't like the way it was done," said Rivers. "I don't think you embarrass anybody."
After relieving Mike Brown of his coaching duties, the Lakers...
I’ll go out on a limb and say the kid with the backwards hat and sunglasses has a basketball IQ of 5. Those matching Dwight Howard t-shirts are kinda cute, though.
Speaking of Mr. Howard, check out the reaction to his latest debacle at the free throw line. Air balls have never been so funny.
Paint your face, clown.
While Los Angeles Lakers fans might get their first chance to see new coach Mike D'Antoni on Tuesday night, the Brooklyn Nets will get their first look at a player who almost ended up on their team.
Dwight Howard will try to lead the suddenly high-powered Lakers to a season-high third straight victory while denying the surging Nets their longest win streak in seven seasons....
Mike D'Antoni is postponing his debut on the Los Angeles Lakers' bench, giving the coach a few more days to recover from recent knee replacement surgery.
