David Lee, much to the surprise of everybody, returned to action Thursday night in the Warriors’ series-clinching Game 6 win over the Nuggets. But it begged a legitimate question: Is David Lee much closer than we all thought to return to serious action? We all were told the all-star was done for the playoffs after tearing a hip flexor in Game 1. Even if ostensibly, Lee’s cameo Thursday night was promising after seeing him run and get active on the boards without any apparent hindrance. And, via Carl Steward, here’s Mark Jackson with an update on Lee’s status for the second round against the Spurs: “It depends on how he’s feeling and what the doctors and training staff and everybody else says about it,” Jackson said. “But he’s excited about it, and if he’s healthy, and he can give us something, I will certainly utiliz...

Warriors never relent in series win over Denver

The Golden State Warriors never relented. They didn't back down when Andrew Bogut sat out rehabilitating his left ankle. They didn't buckle when they lost Game 1 at Denver. And they didn't quit when All-Star forward David Lee tore his right hip flexor in that playoff opener - and neither did Lee, for the matter. For only the second time in 22 years, the Bay Area'...

Golden State Warriors: It May Have Been Ugly, But A Win is a Win

Golden State Warriors: It May Have Been Ugly, But A Win is a Win By Mike Elworth: Owner at Hoopstuff… I will admit that I turned on the Golden State Warriors-Denver Nuggets game 6, with only nine minutes left in the game and have no idea what happened before that time. Addition by subtraction, and addition is the reason Golden State is now winning in the playoffs.

Lost in the recent hype of the Golden State Warriors playoff series win over the Denver Nuggets is how bad this team was only a season ago, and the season before that, etc. They started the 2012 campaign with two great players playing the same position. One was an entrenched fan favorite capable of scoring at will, the other a young phoneme touted as the next great shooter but whose...
