I’m an avid Fantasy Football player. I won’t go into specifics but you can put me up there with the people you might say go a little overboard. Last season I took my first crack at Fantasy Basketball. I didn’t like it that much because it seemed like too much micro-managing. However, it would have been a big help if I had San Antonio Spurs' legend "The Admiral," David Robinson on my team.

Throughout the season, I was constantly looking to see which stats I needed more of. Was I a little short on assists or rebounds this week? Who do I need to pick up that can hit three-point shots but also gets a lot of steals? It would have been nice to have a guy who could fill up the whole stat sheet. In his prime, that guy would have been Robinson.

Bloguin's own The Fantasy Dudes took a good look at what Robinson did throughout his career, plus posted highlights of his legendary quadruple-double, which every Spurs fan probably still has dreams about. The guy was a fantasy stud. Here is what they had to say about number 50:

Robinson's career averages are crazy-ridiculous. Over the course of 987 NBA games, the Spurs big man put up 21.1ppg, 10.6rpg, 3.0bpg, 1.4spg and 2.5apg. And he shot 51.8% from the field, despite being double and triple teamed on a nightly basis. It was the fact that he not only did the big man things well that made him special, but that his agility and smarts allowed him to also contribute mightily in the steals and assists department, normally reserved for the smaller citizens of the league.

Robinson’s career stats would have put him in the top three of any fantasy draft throughout most of his playing time. Last year, I drafted Dwight Howard with my first round pick, which wasn’t bad, but there wasn’t one week in the entire season where I won at free throw percentage.

What do you think Spurs fans? How awesome would have it been to have Robinson on your fantasy basketball team? Are there any other past Spurs you wish you had on your team?
