NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The New Orleans Hornets say rookie forward Anthony Davis has a left shoulder sprain and will not play on Wednesday night in Oklahoma City. Davis hurt his shoulder in a collision with Brooklyn's Brook Lopez under the basket late in the third quarter of New Orleans' 101-97 loss to the Nets. Team officials said during the game that he was available to return, but coach Monty Williams elected not to put him back in, and team officials say Davis did not travel to Oklahoma City. The Hornets say guard Eric Gordon will be in uniform against the Thunder, but is not expected to play for precautionary reasons. Gordon has been sitting out the second of back-to-back games since his return from a right knee injury earlier this season.
