SLAM Online:
The Cavs are being extra careful in their handline of Delonte. He was held out of a public scrimmage on Saturday, and worked out alone: “As they try to analyze what happened with Delonte West last week, without going into details the Cavaliers have concluded West wasn’t ready to begin training camp when the rest of his teammates were. That sounds vague, and that is the point. The team is obviously being careful what it says publicly about West, in addition to protecting him. It explains why there was another West absence Saturday at the Wine and Gold Scrimmage at the University of Akron. This time, however, he was excused. Instead, West stayed at Cleveland Clinic Courts and had a private workout. ‘I made the decision not to rush things and be patient,’ Cavs General Manager Danny Ferry said, talking about West’s troubles over the last week for the first time.”
