Delonte West has had so much promise throughout his nine-year career, but his off-court issues continue to haunt him. West was waived by the Mavericks on Monday while the team cut its roster to 15 players according to the Dallas Morning News. West had been suspended by Dallas twice in the last two weeks, first for a locker room outburst and again for conduct detrimental to the team. West was suspended for the first ten games of the 2010-2011 season for pleading guilty to traffic and weapons charges, stemming from an incident in 2009 when he was pulled over for speeding on a three-wheel motorcycle while he was storing three guns in a guitar case. West was drafted by the Celtics in 2004 with the No. 24 pick. He's averaged 9.7 points per game in his career with 3.6 assists and 2.9 rebounds. West played with the Mavericks last season where he averaged 9.6 points per game. Dallas has had a rough offseason. Jason Kidd left for the Knicks, Dirk Nowitzki will miss the first six weeks of the season due to knee surgery and Eddy Curry will be the opening-day starting center despite signing just days ago.
