Denver Nuggets: Season Review and Awards By Ebee Andrade: Hoopstuff Columnist Record: 57-25. 3rd seed in the West. Lost to Golden State in the 1st round of the playoffs. Review: The only reason this season should be considered a disappointment is the upset by Golden State in the first round. Statistically speaking, this team is right where it wants to be. Their offensive rating was fifth best in the NBA, their pace was second best, they led the NBA in points per game, and their defense rating was 11th best in the association. Despite the good defensive rating, they did allowed 101 points per game, ranking 23rd in the league, but advanced stats show they were far better. George Karl was named Coach of the Year and Masai Ujuri was named Executive of the Year. MVP: Ty Lawson averaged 16.7 points  per game in the regular season, but stepped up his pace in the playoffs, with 21.7 points per game.
