Pass The Pill:
Derrick Favors makes nice use of a Gordon Hayward screen, catches the inbound pass and jams down a thunderous dunk with the defending Patrick Patterson all over him.
This sick reverse dunk came 9:53 to go in the 2nd quarter of Monday night’s action between the Jazz and Rockets in Salt Lake City, Utah. Favor’s throw-down pushed the Jazz lead to 8 points with a score of 34-26.
The 3rd-year power forward out of Georgia Tech is really starting to step-up his play, despite the log jam of bigs who dominate the Utah Jazz’ roster. Favors finished the game with 8 points and 8 rebounds, which almost mirrors his season averages of 9.3 points and 7.7 boards per game. The 21-year old is playing close to 25 minutes per contest, which is a career high and Utah could be looking to move Favors, or one of their many talented big men before the trade deadline on February 21st.
Utah pulled away with the win against the Rockets by a score of 102-91 and improved their record to 6-6 on the season. The Rockets have fallen to 4-7 after a hot start and will be looking to pick it back up on Wednesday night at home against the Chicago Bulls.
