After Thursday’s Bulls practice session, coach Tom Thibodeau said Derrick Rose participated in the non-contact portion of practice. Previously he had only participated in what Thibodeau deemed ‘‘pre-practice’’ activity and individual shooting drills at the Berto Center in Deerfield. Thibodeau cautioned that Rose is still rehabbing from surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered during the first round of the NBA playoffs versus the Philadelphia 76ers. So it’s a long road back. Rose is becoming reintegrated into the team, getting back to normal. But can he cut on it? That’s the key once Rose can cut on a dime and accelerate like he used to, that’s when you can talk about his return to game action. The timetable is looking like February still Paul M.
