The Detroit Pistons knew that they were not going to compete for a championship this year and that the playoffs were most likely not in the picture either, so this year was designated to develop their promising young talent. Greg Monroe may be the most underrated player in the NBA and is one of the most skilled offensive big men in the game and has continued to develop and Andre Drummond has shown the potential to be a dominant defender and a superstar big man. The Pistons now know that the foundation of the team will be built around their fantastic frontcourt, however there is a third player in their supposed foundation, last year’s first round pick, Brandon Knight. But because of recent events, his development has been stunted. They recently made a wise cap saving move, trading Tayshaun Prince to the Grizzlies and receiving Jose Calderon’s expiring contract, so that they could build for the future. Brandon Knight is supposed to be a huge part of this future, as the point guard, bu...

Jose Calderon leaving door open to return to Detroit Pistons this summer?

For those who have been fortune enough to either play with or help coach Jose Calderon during 7-year NBA career, the one word you often hear used should not come as a shock: professional. Regardless if he was running the show in Toronto, fending off annual trade rumors and now even during his early days in Detroit, Calderon remains a true pro since being traded to the Pistons...

Calderon lifts Pistons over Wizards

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. With his contract expiring at season's end, Jose Calderon might be the Detroit Pistons' point guard for only a few months. Then again, maybe not. So far, he's giving the team a lot of reasons to think about bringing him back. Wednesday, with the Washington Wizards trying to take away his passing lanes, Calderon turned into a shooter, hitting six...

The current state of the Detroit Pistons

So here we are a little more than half way thru the 2012-2013 NBA season and with the All-Star break coming up I’d like to take this time to take a look at the current state of Pistons basketball. Right from the get go I’m not going to sugar coat it, Detroit isn’t close to the playoffs in a relatively weak Eastern Conference. Sure the East has the defending champion Miami Heat...

Just weeks after completing a deal that landed Jose Calderon from the Memphis Grizzlies, the Pistons may not be finished reshaping their roster. According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, the Spurs recently talked to the Pistons and Raptors regarding a trade involving 23-year-old forward DeJuan Blair. SA offered D Blair to Detroit but nothing. Hear Boston, Miami, Portland could have...

Detroit Pistons Having Trouble Selling Tickets & More Screencapping Fun!

Our buddy @WorldofIsaac ventured to the Palace of Auburn Hills last night for the Pistons-Hornets game and snapped this shot of the massive crowd that turned out to watch New Orleans win, 105-86. The announced attendance was 10,177. The place holds 22,000. As you can see, there are four upper deck sections without a single customer. Sure, we’re talking about the 20 win Pistons...

Helen Zeller Inspires Us All

You want an early buy (or a repeat)? Throw down some nickels and make a purchase of one Tyler Zeller. His 16 points yesterday were the first since January 19, but the 9 rebounds, 4 assists and a block were not out of the ordinary. He’s had a block in five straight games, is averaging 7 rebounds in the past six games, and has 3 or 4 assists in four games this month. I wouldn...
