The Detroit Pistons are a bit shorthanded up front with Andre Drummond sidelined for upwards of a month by a back injury, and GM Joe Dumars has made a concerted effort to free up salary for a run at free agents next summer. Neither of those factors, however, left the Pistons interested in San Antonio forward DeJuan Blair. From ESPN’s Chris Broussard: SA offered D Blair to Detroit but nothing. Hear Boston, Miami, Portland could have interest. — Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) February 12, 2013 The 23-year-old big man is cut from the Jason Maxiell mold — at 6-foot-7 and 270 pounds, Blair is the same height and 10 pounds heavier than Maxiell. And, like Maxiell, Blair will be a free agent at the end of this season, though of the restricted variety (Maxiell will be an unrestricted free agent, if he’s not re-signed). Still, the Pistons opted not to make a move for Blair, who has averaged a little more than 13 minutes per game this season, posting 5.3 points and 3.9 rebounds on average.
