DALLAS - So Dirk Nowitzki, Mark Cuban, Chris Paul and Tiger Woods walk into a bar ... It sounds like the beginning of a joke in need of a punchline. But in fact, it's the rich and famous gathering for a weekend in Las Vegas to benefit The Tiger Woods Foundation. This particular event was 'Poker Night,' a 10,000 buy-in tournament. But for Dallas Mavericks owner Cuban (and Paul, his primary target in free agency), the stakes are, of course, higher. The Dallas Mavericks aren't allowed to venture into recruiting Chris Paul or any other 2013 NBA free agents until midnight, July 1. But that doesn't mean the rich and famous can't rub elbows for a good cause. Tiger Woods and skier girlfriend Lindsey Vonn are the hosts this weekend at his annual "Tiger Jam.'' The photo is from "Poker Night'' at Moorea Beach Club Beachside Casino at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. It's a 10,000 buy-in poker tournament that benefits The Tiger Woods Foundation ... and of course, that 10 grand fee keeps the riff-raff out And invites the likes of Dirk, Cuban and Paul in. DallasBasketball.com reported last week that Paul is the Mavs' No. 1 target in free agency this summer. (While a CBS report notes that Dwight Howard has the Mavs on his shortlist, that's long been obvious. The revelation is that he's No. 2 to Dallas.) Paul can re-sign with the Clippers for five years and 107,343,500 or can join a new team like Dallas for four years and 79,714,196. The Mavs have gained and retained cap room for the last two years for the pursuit of a player of Paul's level to team with Dirk Nowitzki. Nowitzki himself is fully invested in the recruiting process. Meanwhile, as improbable as it seems, In this space, we have revealed some of the Mavs' thinking when it comes to ways to acquire Paul AND Howard . But again, acquiring one superstar is challenge enough, especially when it means he is guaranteed 27 mil less to leave his existing team. It's all a gamble of sorts -- pun intended -- and one that cannot officially begin until July 1. But nothing precludes the parties from doing good deeds for charity.

Tiger Woods Won’t Squash Sergio Garcia Feud, Indicates Two Won’t ‘Chill’ Any Time Soon (Video)

Anyone thinking that the feud between Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia would be going away any time soon is sorely mistaken. At this years Players Championship, Garcia blamed Woods for an errant shot he hit on the par-5 second hole at TPC Sawgrass, saying Woods caused his gallery to cheer while Garcia was in the middle of a shot. Garcia: I've never truly connected with Tiger

Sergio Garcia says he doesn't need Tiger Woods as a friend. The pair have been feuding since the Players Championship at Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida after a dispute as to whether Woods inadvertently or maliciously disrupted the Spaniard's swing when they were paired together during the tournament's third round on the TPC Sawgrass course. ''I can't like...

Sergio Garcia Is Stealing His Racist Jokes Now

At the 1997 Masters Tournament, as a then-21-year old Tiger Woods was about to finish an incredible 12-shot victory, then-45-year old Fuzzy Zoeller created one of golf’s strangest rivalries when he told a reporter:“That little boy is driving it well, and he’s putting well. He’s doing everything it takes to win. So you know what you guys do when he gets in here? You pat him...

Sergio Garcia made a ‘fried chicken’ comment about Tiger Woods

Caption the Photo: Mark Cuban, CP3 and Tiger Woods in Vegas

At first glance it would appear that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is getting an early but illegal jump on his free-agent shopping by partying it up with his No. 1 target this summer Chris Paul, but apparently, both men just happen to be at an event held by Tiger Woods. Woods and his significant other Lindsey Vonn, hosted “TigerJam” which is an annual event the golfer...

Come On Sergio

It's no secret Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia aren't the best of friends. In fact, it wouldn't be out of line to say they can't stand each other. Woods has been known to call Garcia a whiner and Garcia has been known to call Woods a fake character. The fact Woods has dominated Garcia when they've been paired together in past golf tournaments doesn't help...

Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn drop off Tiger’s kids at school (photo)

The last time we checked in with Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn here at the Sportress, the world champion skier was escorting around her seemingly schnockered pro golfer boyfriend during an afterparty following the annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. But on Tuesday, a more sober-looking Tiger was [...]The post Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn drop...

Lindsey Vonn Takes Tiger Woods’ Kids To School (Photos)

Downhill Skier Lindsey Vonn is officially in the wifey zone with Tiger Woods.  In the photos courtesy of TMZ, Vonn can be seen taking Woods’ two adorable kids to school, minus Tiger. I would assume Vonn was likely on her way to rehab for her surgically repaired knee. The two have been official since early March, and recently have been the subject of marriage rumors, contingent...

Tiger and Rocco Back in the News, 5 Years Later

Let’s be honest, the two weeks between the PLAYERS and the Memorial aren’t that exciting. Sure, the best in the world are still teeing it up, but the Byron Nelson and Colonial aren’t exactly marquee events anymore. So let’s talk about something that is sure to get some run in the coming weeks. In an interview for the Golf Channel, Rocco Mediate told a very interesting...
