Fox Sports Southwest:
Dirk Nowitzki threw on the headset and grabbed a microphone to call a few plays Wednesday night. Heck, the Mavericks superstar is sitting out a few games to improve his conditioning so why not do a little play-by-play for a few minutes in the first half.
Fortunately for those watching at home, while Nowitzki was on the mic, one of the best alley-opps of the season took place. Jason Terry lofted a perfect fastbreak pass to a sprinting Brandan Wright and the Mavs forward threw down an impressive two-handed flush.
Several Mavericks players erupted off the bench in celebration following the play and Minnesota quickly called timeout to regroup.
Nowitzki was obviously impressed by the show of athleticism. The 7-foot German yelled: "Shut it down! Let's go home!"
The Mavs went on to lose the contest but like Nowitzki's famous "We are the Champions" rendition and "Take dat wit chew" quote, this one is sure to be a YouTube hit for quite some time.
