Video: Dirk is out of this world!
BEST OF MAXIM
Dirk Nowitzki is taking his game to new heights.
As in, outer space.
The Dallas Mavericks, always on the cutting edge of viral videos, released their latest clip on Tuesday in which a bobblehead version of the Mavericks superstar is launched by balloon to see just how high he can fly. The entire event is captured on video.
The result is simply breathtaking as you watch the bobblehead...
Dirk Nowitzki had a great moment with a Sacramento Kings security guard last week. The officials for the Mavericks-Kings game were doing a video review of a play with 36.1 seconds remaining in the game. Dirk was trying to work his way over towards the monitors to see how things were going with the review, only there was one problem: a bold security guard stood in his way.
While longtime Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki may be getting up there in years, video was released by the team on Tuesday that shows a bobblehead facsimile of the German veteran getting up there…into the Earth’s atmosphere, even.
Sure, like Nowitzki, the Mavericks roster is not what it used to be during Dirk’s heyday, and the team is plodding along thus far this season...
As both of the announcers in the below video point out, it’s probably the best defense anyone from Sacramento has played all year.
During Thursday’s 117-112 overtime win by the Dallas Mavericks over the Sacramento Kings, late in the fourth quarter the officials gathered up for a very common video review. Now, who knew that the NBA had a security guard stand in front of the refs...
Over the weekend, Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki was doing his best to check out a review near the end of the Mavericks/Kings game at Sleep Train Arena. As Dirk attempted to get a better look at the review, a Kings security guard did his best to block of the path of Dirk from getting a closer look:
It’s a little late, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t show this light-hearted moment between Mavs forward Dirk Nowitzki and a Sacramento Kings security guard from this past Thursday’s Kings-Mavericks game (won by the Mavs 117-112 in OT). As Los That Sports Blog explains, Disco Dirk was trying to get a closer look at an official’s video review late in the fourth quarter, but...
Some of these NBA players should take note of this video of a security official as he plays excellent defense on Dallas Maverick Dirk Nowitzki. Nowitzki tries to make his way to the replay table to assist in a call being reviewed by the referees, but a security official slides his feet keeping between Nowitzki and the [...]
Dirk Nowitzki has been the Dallas Mavericks' preeminent scorer through nearly all of his 15 seasons, but he hasn't had to carry the load during one of the team's longest win streaks of 2012-13.
Looking for another balanced effort, Dallas will seek a season-high fourth consecutive victory Wednesday night while trying to add to its recent dominance over the struggling...
Dirk Nowitzki will likely not be a factor in Dwight Howard's decision beyond the consideration of on-floor fit.
The Dallas Mavericks are off to a rough 15-23 start to the season, and at the moment they look like a team that could be destined for the playoff bubble. Two years removed from an NBA championship, Dallas has lost some key players like Jason Kidd and Jason Terry and is dealing with an aging and oft-injured Dirk Nowitzki.
Some feel that the logical thing for Mark Cuban to do would...
Dirk Nowitzki wants to be a Dallas Maverick forever, but also doesn’t want to be chasing a low playoff seed every year either.
The figurative (possibly literal) Bank of Mark Cuban is open, but he doesn’t want to take on bad salary or deviate too far from the flexibility Dallas has built either.
The Mavs have won [...]
According to the boss, Dirk isn't going anywhere
Even though it hasn't been discussed widely thus far this season, Dallas Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban has dismissed the notion that his struggling team--sitting at 10 games under .500 in recent days--will trade superstar and long-time franchise player Dirk Nowitzki to clear cap and accelerate the inevitable...
DALLAS (AP) -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 19 points, O.J. Mayo hit two tiebreaking free throws and the Dallas Mavericks held off a Jeremy Lin-led surge to beat the Houston Rockets 105-100 on Wednesday night.
Lin and James Harden combined to score the last 18 points for the Rockets, who erased an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit and got even at 97. After Elton Brand blocked a layup attempt...
(Eds: Updates. With AP Photos.) By SCHUYLER DIXON AP Sports Writer The Dallas Mavericks are finally playing like the team they thought they built after Deron Williams spurned them in the offseason.
If they keep this up, it might not be too late to extend their playoff streak to 13 seasons.
The Mavericks have won a season-best four straight games since dropping 10 below .500 for...
