At some point in the eve of the Lakers media day, Mitch Kupchak made another move to improve an already stacked roster. This time, he added veteran wingman Chris Douglas-Roberts to the list of training camp hopefuls. With Roberts, the Lakers now have 16 players for training camp which started Tuesday. Roberts (or "CDR" or "Buckets") is a 3-year NBA veteran after being drafted by the New Jersey Nets as the 40th overall pick in 2008 out of Memphis. He spent 2 seasons with the Nets before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2010 for a 2012 2nd round pick. Last season, he was one of the NBA players who exported to the European leagues due to the lockout and played for Italy's Virtus Bologna. The six-foot-seven, 210 pound forward/guard is regarded as an offensive-minded player who can create his own shot with his decent handles and athleticism. The strength of his game basically falls between mid-range jumpers to attacking the rim and has a nice finesse game with...

Metta World Peace is an aspiring comedian, so he was probably joking when he made a crack about Steve Nash being the smartest Laker. According to LA Times Lakers blogger Mark Medina, World Peace was asked if Steve Nash is the smartest Lakers. He had a classic response.“He’s white, so probably yes.”There’s a reason he’s called the “Lakers idiot.” Nobody will complain...
I generally respect a lot of reporters. Many of them do a great job covering their respective teams. But sometimes a few of them ask lazy questions aimed at getting a reaction rather than getting information.
Because, as the success of horribly disgusting screaming matches like First Take tell us, we just loves us them wild reactions.
So with that, I bring you this. The LA...
The Lakers have recently added Ronnie Aguilar to their training camp roster, but it would take almost a miracle for him to make the active roster for the regular season.
Feuds are good for the NBA. Well, usually. But its painful to hear retired players insulting, or downright trashing, greats of today.
Thats what is taking place with the Lakers, as Shaquille ONeal spoke his mind about Dwight Howard again -- and Howard again defended himself.
Of course, this is all being blown out of proportion a little, as all ONeal really said was he feels Andrew...
The day before basketball is played at the Los Angeles Lakers’ training camp, the Lakers hosted hundreds of media members for their Media Day at their El Segundo practice facility today. A majority of the players currently on the roster were available for interview, including the Lakers starting five: Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Metta World Peace, Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard.
Television contracts are the main source of income for any pro sports team.
In Los Angeles, two of the most popular teams are being matched together for broadcast purposes.
Time Warner Cable, for their new sports network, bought the exclusive regional rights to broadcast Lakers and Galaxy games for $20 billion dollars over 3 years. The LA Sparks of the WNBA are also part of the...
Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard doesn't care what Shaquille O'Neal says after the former Laker said both Andrew Bynum and Brook Lopez are the true big men in the league.
"I don't care what Shaq says," Howard told reporters via ESPN. "Shaq played the game. He's done. He's gone. It's time to move on."
"He hated the fact when...
Ron Artest Metta World Peace is not known for being the most intelligent man in basketball but he has an answer for who is (at least on the Lakers...)
Metta World Peace was asked if Steve Nash is the smartest player on the Lakers: "He's white, so probably yes."

Dwight Howard has moved on from Shaquille O'Neal's verbal jabs toward him over the years.
Dwight Howard is sitting out most of Los Angeles Lakers training camp while he recovers from surgery to correct a herniated disk in his back. Andrew Bynum has been shut down by the Philadelphia 76ers for three weeks as a "precaution" after undergoing a plasma-rich platelet injection in one of his surgically repaired knees. Stephen Curry is back on the court, but in limited...
Dwight Howard followed Tuesday's 4-hour practice full of 3-on-3, 2-on-2 and one-on-one full-contact drills by going through Wedneday's morning session.
Dwight Howard: We Have Contact. The Lakers’ newest center in their line of positional dominance participated in contact drills. Coach Mike Brown said that he was just waiting for doctor’s clearance before putting him in scrimmages. Howard, who had back surgery last year, should be ready to start the season.
