Draymond Green speaks on 'cowardly' Kevin Durant

Draymond Green is back in the limelight.

The outspoken forward has been trending on social media after the latest episode of his "The Draymond Green Show" has gone viral. During that show, Green labeled former teammate Kevin Durant as cowardly. He was referring to Durant's comments after Green was suspended indefinitely and a back-and-forth they had following the Warriors' win over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.

"Him (Jusuf Nurkic) and Kevin (Durant) questioned my character before," Green said. "As if you're going to question somebody's character about a basketball game like this isn't real life. As if that doesn't affect somebody's pockets. Like, I think all of it was really cowardly...You gonna question somebody's character, you got my phone number. If you hope I get the help I need, hit me and say that. So, like I said, I thought it was all cowardly. That's where those emotions came from."

Green and Durant have a history. They spent three seasons together in Golden State, winning two championships. Since Durant left, there's been no love lost between the two star talents. There's also a growing rivalry between Golden State and Phoenix, fueled in part by Durant's presence on Phoenix's roster.

Golden State doesn't have another game against Phoenix left on the schedule. If these two teams see each other again, it will be in the playoffs. Given Green's willingness to escalate his rivalry with both Jusuf Nurkic and Durant, any contest between these two teams will be a fiery affair.

Durant likely wants to prove he can win a championship without the help of Golden State's veteran core, while Green has been vocal about his team's success without Durant.

Green recently returned from suspension and needs to be careful not to overstep his boundaries, regardless of whether that's on the court or off it.

Warriors fans will likely be hoping Green can turn his attention back to the court. He's been integral in the team's current resurgence. Keeping his focus on helping the Warriors should be his main priority. He can go back to agitating the Suns if they face each other in the playoffs. After all, that's what he excels at. Especially during games.
