Hard to imagine this is the face of the most desired man in basketball right now. The on and off saga between Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic has taken yet another turn. Sources at ESPN
claim that Howard now wants out of Orlando and wishes to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets.
Howard apparently met with newly named Magic general manager, Rob Hennighan, on Friday and told him he wants out of Orlando and would like to be traded to the Nets which comes as no surprise.
Howard has made it clear that Brooklyn would be his top destination yet sources outside of ESPN
are reporting the Magic are in talks with other teams about the all-star center. The Houston Rockets were busy making deals leading up to last week's NBA Draft, hoping they could work out a deal involving three first-round picks. However, they weren't able to trade up into the lottery and ended making selections with the 12th, 16th, and 18th pick. The Magic won't send their franchise center to Los Angeles unless the Lakers are willing to give up their own in Andrew Bynum.
When it's all said and done I believe that Howard will start next season as a member of the Brooklyn Nets. After re-signing Gerald Wallace this weekend to a four-year deal
Deron Williams is next expected to sign a contract extension to remain with the Nets. He will first meet with the Dallas Mavericks on Monday as well as with the Nets
before making a decision. It's been known that Mavericks owner Mark Cuban would love to add the all-star point guard and help Dallas become a title contender once again.
Adding Howard would instantly make Brooklyn a team to reckon with in the East. Howard is the best center in the league and Williams is considered a top point guard in his own right. Brooklyn would posses the best point guard/center combination in the entire NBA. However, you better believe that Howard and Williams are in talks with each other throughout the whole ordeal. I highly speculate that if one of the two decided to go elsewhere it would change the whole landscape of the situation. Meaning Howard wouldn't go to Brooklyn if Williams went to another team and vice-versa. They both understand that their best chance at a championship is to be teammates. TL;DR
Dwight Howard has once again requested a trade from the Orlando Magic to the Brooklyn Nets.Sources: Dwight Howard wants trade
