Following Dwight Howard’s dominant 28 point, 20 rebound performance in a 122-103 win over Denver last night, the All-Star center was asked what it will be like when the Lakers host the Orland Magic this Sunday. Howard, who’s departure from the Magic franchise was anything but ordinary, admitted “it’s going to be a little weird” facing his former team for the first time.
According to Orlando Sentinel:
“Well, you know, it’s going to be a little weird playing against my former team,” Howard answered. “But we need a good win and [to] come out with a lot of energy. So I’m going to put all my effort into getting ready for the next game and playing with a lot of intensity and just having fun.”
Howard’s trade request, coupled with his subsequent stay-or-go saga, strained his friendships with some players on the Magic roster.
