Is Dwight one and done in La-La land?
When the Lakers acquired Dwight Howard this summer it seemed like it was just a matter of time before he inked a max deal with LA, and played out the rest of his prime in Hollywood (before the Lakers somehow traded the 35 year old version of him for whoever the best player in the NBA in 2021 is, of course). However Howard made a few comments recently to John Denton of the Magic's team website saying, in short, that he plans on putting himself in the best position to win a ring, whether that's the Lakers or not.
You only get one shot. People might not ever understand that, but at the end of the day it's not their life. So I want to do it the best that I can and I'm going to take everything in I can to get what I can out of the NBA. Which, for me, is winning a championship. So if I have to play on another team or do whatever I have to do to get one, that's my goal.
Ok, so Howard says he's going to play for a championship c...
BEST OF MAXIM
‘I don’t care if your d*ck is 3x bigger than mine, Dwight Howard. I can hit 70% of my free throws.’ @MedicatedMinute and other Lakers fans are not happy with how their season is unfolding. At 8-10 and 12th in the West, all of the Lakers fans who were guaranteeing championships back in August are suddenly quiet.
The Lakers lost last night 107-105 to the Houston Rockets...
Dwight Howard continues to struggle at the free throw line, but he and Mike D'Antoni believe it is a non-issue.
Jameer Nelson, who’s a game-time decision (tendinitis) vs. the Lakers, was asked at this morning’s shootaround what it will be like to see former teammate Dwight Howard play for the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. Playing alongside each other for eight seasons, Howard and Nelson were once close, and while the Magic point guard had nothing negative to say about Howard, he implied...
The Magic defeated the Lakers by a final score of 113-103 in Dwight Howard's first game against his former team.
PAU RIGHT IN THE KISSER
The Lakers star apparently is extremely frustrated with his teammate, saying the following to reporters about Gasol: "Put your big boy pants on."
Dwight Howard said he's happy with the Los Angeles Lakers but wont commit to staying with the organization past this season. "We're not going to talk about it," Howard said Saturday to the Los Angeles Times. "We're not getting into that." Click Link To Read More! There was something different about the night of Sunday, December 2, 2012. Something that is a rarity in modern day professional athletics. Sometimes there are not rational explanations for why unexpected events occur. The numbers do not always tell the entire story and you do not play a basketball game on paper. The only numbers that really mattered on this night were 113 and...
From Dwight Howard's missed free throws to folks crying for Pau Gasol to be shipped out of Los Angeles, The Unsportsmanlike Conduct Show is back in full effect. The post Podcast: The Lakers (Literally) Cannot Trade Pau Gasol appeared first on The Sports Fan Journal.
A let down would have been understandable for the Magic as they traveled upstate from an emotional victory over the Lakers on Sunday night. Even Orlando fans might have excused it thanks to the gravity of what defeating Dwight Howard meant to a lot of fans.
Jacque Vaughn though called it a "typical win."
Again, it certainly was not that. But maybe it is becoming...
Every morning, we will give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day.
1: Magic had something to prove
Jameer Nelson was maybe the only guy willing to admit what Sunday's 113-103 win against Dwight Howard the Lakers actually meant. While Jacque Vaughn called it just another game and Glen Davis siad he was not worried about what Dwight Howard was...
HOUSTON -- In complete control for the majority of Tuesday's game, the Los Angeles Lakers collapsed down the stretch and watched the Houston Rockets swipe an improbable 107-105 victory at Toyota Center on Tuesday night. It was not the way the Lakers hoped to open a three-game road trip. The Rockets (9-8) trailed by as many as 17 points and didn't take their first lead...
The Los Angeles Lakers badly need a victory Wednesday night considering the location of the final stop of this week's road trip.
The Lakers will try to avoid their second three-game skid and could again be without Pau Gasol as they take on the New Orleans Hornets.
Los Angeles (8-10) led by as many as 17 points and was still up 13 in the fourth quarter before falling 107-105...
