Nothing makes attending a sporting event more uncomfortable than sitting near one of those overbearing, obnoxious parents who constantly berates the officials and yells and screams at their kids during the game, oblivious ot the scores of people around them that their salty language is offensive and off-putting, as they try to live vicariously through their children’s accomplishments.

It doesn’t even matter if your “kid” is a 30-year-old NBA superstar, as evidenced by Dwyane Wade Sr., D-Wade’s father, supposed ejection from the United Center during Wednesday night’s Heat-Bulls game.  Apparently Wade Sr. was cursing up a storm, and when asked by arena personnel to curb the bad language, he refused, and was subsequently escorted out of the building.

From ESPN…

Dwyane Wade Sr., the father of Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade, was ejected from Wednesday’s contest at the United Center, according to an arena source.

While seated in the 100 level, the elder Wade was asked by arena personnel to stop using profanity. He refused and was ejected, the source said.

According to the venue’s Website, the United Center, “intends to provide all guests with a safe, comfortable, and friendly environment. Our family atmosphere prohibits foul or abusive language, and any violation of these policies may result in ejection.”

If this is true, then the man deserved to be kicked out.  Whether or not he’s the father of one of the Heat superstars has no bearing whatsoever on the arena’s decision to eject him.  It’s bad enough swearing and cursing like a drunken sailor in front of complete strangers while attending a NBA game, but it’s even worse if there are kids present, and even though the ESPN article doesn’t explicitly say it, there’s a good chance that there were a few children in Wade Sr.’s section.
