Edwards Reveals Bold Message To Towns After Game 4 Loss vs. Nuggets
Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Anthony Edwards emerged as a beacon of hope and leadership after the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Game 4 loss to the Denver Nuggets, the defending NBA champions.

Despite the 115-107 defeat, which leveled the Western Conference semifinals series at 2-2, Edwards refused to let his teammates’ spirits sag.

Edwards quickly encouraged Karl-Anthony Towns, who was struggling after shooting a dismal 5-18 from the field.

“He’s a superstar,” Edwards said. “He gets paid to put the ball in the rim. I always tell him, ‘Don’t you ever stop shooting the ball because you missed five or six. I don’t give a damn. In order for us to win, we need you to score.'”

Towns, still reeling from his subpar performance, appreciated Edwards’ vote of confidence.

“Things weren’t falling today,” Towns admitted. “I take responsibility for that. I know I put the work in, so I feel good about the work I put in. It’s shown this playoffs, obviously. It’s unfortunate that on Mother’s Day I have a shooting performance like that. But it’s the way the game goes. It’s not a fun game sometimes.”

Edwards’ leadership and encouragement didn’t stop there. He continued to rally his teammates, urging them to stay focused and united in the face of adversity. His message was clear: the Timberwolves are in this together, and they need each other to overcome the challenges that lie ahead.

As the series shifts back to Denver, the Timberwolves face a critical test of their mettle. But with Edwards at the helm, they’re ready to confront the challenge head-on, buoyed by his infectious confidence and unwavering support.

“We just got to stay connected in this locker room,” Towns echoed. “Even through good, bad, we always are together, and we always lean into the brotherhood that we have built here.”

Edwards’ leadership has been a key factor in the Timberwolves’ success this season, and it will be crucial as they look to regain their footing in the series.

With his encouragement and support, the Timberwolves are ready to face whatever challenges come their way, united and determined to succeed.
