It's not going to be one of those highly publicized guarantees, but Philadelphia 76ers second-year guard Evan Turner is pretty confident that the Sixers can reach a record well above .500.

“We can be like 42-24 or something close,” said Turner, according to an interview with Dei Lynam on Comcast Sportsnet. “I think we will definitely have a winning percentage above .500, most definitely. We are just going to keep competing and take one game at a time.”

Philadelphia has plenty of talent up and down their roster and have arguably the deepest team in the East. There's a lot of hype surrounding this team, most of which can be credited to the emergence of guard Jrue Holliday and the fan-friendly approach by new Sixers' CEO Adam Aron.

There's no question that the Sixers can finish above .500, but 18 games above .500 could be a stretch. Then again, a lot of that hinges on the development of Evan Turner and rookie Nikola Vucevic, as well as the play of veteran big man, Elton Brand.

Philadelphia opens their season December 26 at Portland in what should be a very exciting and entertaining season.
