And then there were two. For the third straight year, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat made their way to the NBA Finals. And for the first time since 2007, it's the San Antonio Spurs representing the Western Conference in the championship round, with the same three-man core that won a title six years ago and had heard plenty of whispers since that they were too old to do it again. The series starts Thursday night in Miami, so here's five things - a starting five, if you will - to watch: --- LEBRON'S LEGACY He got his championship last season, so LeBron James will never have to hear that ''Will you ever win a title?'' question again. But he was swept by the Spurs when facing them in the 2007 finals as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, so for the league's four-time MVP, this is a chance to erase at least some of the sting from that awful memory. And because the Spurs had more than a week to get ready for the series, look for San Ant...

NBA 2K14 Puts LeBron James on Cover of Video Game for First Time

With four NBA Most Valuable Player awards under his belt, seemingly countless endorsement deals and an unofficial tag as the best basketball player on the planet, it seems almost ridiculous that LeBron James has never been honored as the cover athlete of a video game. Until now, that is. 2K Sports announced Thursday prior to Game 1 of the NBA Finals that the Miami Heat star will...

LeBron James boxing to prepare for 2013 NBA Finals

LeBron James is ready to rumble when the NBA Finals kick off Thursday night against the San Antonio Spurs. James posted these photos to his website of him boxing with his trainer with the following message. If it was easy, everyone would have a ring. How hard would you work and how much would you give to achieve your goal? While most people were at home eating a late dinner in front...

Flashback: Why Dwyane Wade Will Decide The NBA Finals

Dwyane Wade will be the difference for the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. A few hours before Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals was about to tip off a text message came through. “If the Heat lose tonight, do they try and trade D-Wade for a big man?” And that, was where the career of Dwyane Wade stood. A forgettable playoff campaign, capped by a truly awful 3-11, non-existent...

Caption the Photo: LeBron James XBOX Controller

LeBron will be on the cover of NBA 2K14, but someone had a little fun with The King on NBA 2K13. Petty, but somewhat humorous. LeBron could win 10 rings and people will always find something to get on him about. Glass half full, they normally only go that hard on you, if you are really good and LeBron is the best player in the NBA, so it makes sense.

LeBron James Says 07 Spurs Took Something From Inside of His Body

I think LeBron was trying to give the perfect motivational quote and it came out wrong. “I have something in me that they took in ’07; beat us on our home floor, celebrated on our home floor,” James said. “I won’t forget that. You shouldn’t as a competitor. You should never forget that. “If you go into my pick-and-roll now, I’m going to shoot. And I’m confident...

LeBron James doesn’t pick Kobe Bryant as most dominant star of last 15 years

LeBron James kicks off his fourth NBA Finals appearance tonight in Miami against the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs swept LeBron in his first NBA Finals appearance in 2007 while he was still a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Thus the NBA has its story lines and LeBron gets pounded with questions about the Spurs and their Big Three. In a pre-Finals media interview with reporters...

James, Heat jump out to early lead over Spurs

LeBron James had six points, four rebounds and two assists to help the Miami Heat take a 24-23 lead over the San Antonio Spurs after one quarter in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night. Chris Bosh added five points, and Ray Allen drilled a 3-pointer from the wing for the Heat, who are looking for their second straight championship. Tony Parker had six points, and Danny Green...

Video: LeBron James and Tim Duncan shared moment after Spurs won 2007 NBA title

It was 2007. Tim Duncan's Spurs had just swept LeBron James' Cavs away to win his fourth title. In the hallway afterwards, the two shared a moment.

LeBron James fourth among Forbes' highest-paid athletes

Tiger Woods is back on top of Forbes' list of highest-paid athletes. The star golfer spent 11 straight years at No. 1 on the magazine's list before falling to third in 2012. The magazine put him back in the top spot after he made 78.1 million over the last year from prize money, endorsements, appearance fees and golf course design work. Woods has enjoyed a resurgence in his...

Brittney Griner to be a “Male” Model for Nike

This sounds about right.  I don’t think anyone expected her to be modeling Red Bottoms. ESPN’s Kate Fagan revealed that Griner’s contract will allow her to wear clothes branded for men. Androgynous models are coveted in high-end fashion, but the trend toward gender-neutral clothing has only just begun to reach the sports world, with NBA stars Russell Westbrook and Dwyane...

3 Keys To A San Antonio Championship

The San Antonio Spurs will face off against the Miami Heat tonight in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. This will be the first time the Spurs make the Finals without homecourt advantage against the best team in the East, the Miami Heat. The Spurs will have their work cut out for them in the final series to determine the NBA champion and there will be three factors that will determine...

Britney Griner will model mens fashion for Nike

Phoenix Mercury and former Baylor star Britney Griner will model fashion that is branded for men as part of her contract with Nike, according to a snippet in an article in ESPN Magazine where Kate Fagan profiled the star. The article talks about Griner, her rise to fame and how she is dealing with life today, but also in the article Fagan mentions the contract with Nike. Androgynous...
