If you ask Florida high school senior Chris Walker what he can on the basketball floor, he could probably talk for days.  The five-star recruit (according to Rivals) who will be a Florida Gator in 2013 is not lacking in ability as he’s ranked the sixth-best recruit in the nation, but he’s also not lacking in humility either.

Last month, he proclaimed that Florida will win a national championship during his time in Gainesville.  This week, he hinted that his time in Gainesville will be limited to one season.  And when you can do anything on the floor, according to yourself, why would you not head right to the NBA?

“I can shoot threes now. I can finesse you. I can dunk on you. I can guard anything, and I’m rebounding better. When I block shots I catch the ball. I can post you up with my back to the basket and hit you with a post move. Or I can face you up and use my quickness to blow by you.  NBA draft people have said I’m like a sick mix of Kevin Garnett and Perry Jones III.”

Walker is 6’9″.  Garnett and Jones III both measure just under seven feet.  Granted, Walker is only 18 and could keep growing.  But who needs those extra inches when you can do everything…expect speak humbly.

Good luck with this sick mix or arrogance and pomposity (great word, you should use it some time), Billy Donovan.  And Chris, I’m definitely willing to take the field if you want to wager a sick mix of dollar bills on that national championship call in March 2014.
