PLAYERS: LeBron JamesDwyane Wade
TEAMS: Miami Heat
In case, the Miami Heat needed anymore inspiration to attempt a three-peat this season, championship boxer Floyd Mayweather made an appearance at a recent Heat practice. Below is more info from the fine folks over at the Associated Press of Floyd’s visit and words from LeBron/D-Wade about the speech that Mayweather told the team: ”We’re trying to defend two titles. He’s been defending for a long time,” Heat star LeBron James said. ”He definitely knows where we’re coming from. It’s exciting at the end of the day to have someone, one of the greatest of all-time, to be in the presence. It’s something you can talk about years from now. … We’re honored and blessed to have him in the building.” Mayweather, who left just as practice was ending, gave the Heat a brief speech, reminding the two-time defending NBA champions about the need for hard work and dedication. ”From one champion to another, he just talked about him being proud of us, how we handled ourselves,” Heat guard Dwyane Wade said. ”He knows as a champion how hard it is to go out there every night and compete, when someone can take you down and take what you work for. He just kept telling us how proud he is of us and that’d he’d be here to support, just as he was for many years.” *** Floyd Mayweather image courtesy of Getty Images

The Pace of Play Will Be Insane

How many times could I beat Lebron a James in a game of 1 on 1 if we played 100 times? The intuitive answer is zero, I’d never ever win. Well I am here to tell you, and this is something I don’t like to do, that you’re oh so wrong. I could beat him and more than once, no doubt about it.  Since it’s my ball and my court, I set the rules.  First to score wins and I always...

Bird Takes Wing(s)

I love this! Remember back to the Bird vs Jordan Big Mack commercial that started it all. We didn't see who got the Big Mac and we can only assume that it was a tie. Or, maybe it was Magic Johnson who snuck in and ate it. And then there was the copycat one with Dwight Howard and LeBron James. Bird got the Big Mac in that one. And now this one. Larry gets the wings from...
