From ESPN LA... looks like the Lakers needed to find another impact player since Chris Paul got traded to the Clippers and Dwight Howard is off the trade market for the time being (sarcasm). The Los Angeles Lakers worked out free agent forward Troy Murphy on Wednesday evening as the team continues to try to add roster depth while only being able to offer the veteran's minimum salary to incoming players. Murphy, 31, averaged 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds and 10.5 minutes in 17 games with the Boston Celtics last season, finishing the year in Boston after beginning the season with the New Jersey Nets. The 6-11, 245-pound left-hander out of Notre Dame has career averages of 11.6 points and 8.3 rebounds while shooting 38.9 percent on 3-pointers in 10 seasons in the league.

New Orleans Hornets officials say they've excused Chris Paul from a normally mandatory preseason media event. Hornets spokesman Dennis Rogers says the decision to keep the star guard away from Wednesday's event at the New Orleans Arena was mutual. Paul has not spoken to reporters since reporting for training camp last Friday. The Hornets have sought to trade the four-time...

Chauncey Billups Signing to Help Clippers Land Chris Paul?

The latest twist in the never-ending Chris Paul trade saga is that the Clippers are now in a better position to swap for the superstar point guard, thanks to the Chauncey Billups acquisition. David Stern Did The Right Thing With Chris Paul

That's a painful headline to write, and especially inconceivable after the histrionics that followed the NBA's veto of a deal that would have sent Chris Paul to the Lakers last week. It was a power trip, a violation of Dell Demps's autonomy, and maybe even an anti-trust violation: and as it turns out, a shrewd move by a man inured to...

New Orleans Hornets Trade CP3 to the Los Angeles…Clippers?

A week after NBA Commissioner David Stern killed a deal that would send Chris Paul to the Lakers in a 3-team deal, the Hornets have worked out a deal to send the disgruntled star to the LA Clippers. The Clippers will send guard Eric Gordon, forward Al-Farouq Aminu, center Chris Kaman and a first-round draft choice to the Hornets; the Clippers may be receiving 2 second round draft...
