Former Raptors Guard Signs With CEBL’s Saskatchewan Rattlers
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Former Toronto Raptors guard Jalen Harris is returning to Canada.

Harris signed with CEBL’s Saskatchewan Rattlers on May 9. He was drafted in the second-round of the 2020 NBA Draft by the Raptors.

Harris is joining his eighth pro team since being drafted by Toronto.

General Manager and Vice-President of Basketball Operations for the Rattlers Barry Rawlyk talked about the singing of Harris per The Daily Hive’s Adam Laskaris:

“Jalen brings a lot of high-level experience to our roster and is expected to make a big impact on the court,” said General Manager and Vice-President of Basketball Operations, Barry Rawlyk. “He was a valuable part of the team in Scarborough for two seasons and we expect he will bring some of his championship mentality to our team. He is expecting to bring himself into a totally basketball-focused environment with the Rattlers, which Coach Abney has promised to deliver.”

Unfortunately for Harris his NBA career was cut short. He was suspended for one-year from the NBA in the summer of 2021 after testing positive for a prohibited substance under the NBA/NBPA anti-drug program.

He was later reinstated in 2022, but has yet to play in the NBA again.

Harris spent this past season with the Chicago-affiliated Windy City Bulls of the NBA G League. He put up 12.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 23.7 minutes in 35 games.

Harris joining the Rattlers will mark him joining his second CEBL team. He played for the Scarborough Shooting Stars in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
