Sometimes, things just fall into place, and sometimes, things are a result of hard work paired with an opportunity. For Randy Foye on Monday night at Dallas, it was the latter. Foye tied a franchise record by hitting eight 3-point shots, and he scored 28 points in the Clippers' 94-75 win over the Mavericks. "Well, he was just feeling it obviously," Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. "But we got him in some rhythm. They went zone; they lost him a few times on that left wing." With defenses paying so much attention to Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, there are open shots to be had on the perimeter, and lately, Foye's been knocking them down. Foye has made 16 3-pointers in his past three games. "I was just being aggressive. That was my main thing was to just come out and be aggressive," Foye said. "They were cracking down on Blake when he was driving, and it opened up lanes, and I was just feeling it." NOTES, QUOTES Clippers say win over Mavericks wasn't a statement game --Prior to Monday's game at Dallas, the Clippers knew there was a lot at stake. With the two teams slated to meet in the first round of the playoffs if the postseason started Monday and the season series tied at one win each, the outcome was critical. "It was important because if we lost, they would have been right there on us," G Randy Foye said. "I think this game gave us a little bit of space to be separated a little bit." With the victory, the Clippers now have a two-game hold on the fourth spot in the West. With the loss, Dallas moves back into sixth. "It's a good game because we need wins and it helps us in the West standings," F Blake Griffin said. "At the same time, just because we won like this doesn't mean that if we had to come back, it would be a rout. They're a tough team, they're a veteran team, they're missing some guys, so we've just got to keep on working and keep on plugging." --With the win Monday, the Clippers' have a season-long six-game winning streak. The Clippers' last six-game winning streak came in March 1992. QUOTE TO NOTE: "When we get that type of production from that position, obviously it change the complexion of our team tremendously." -- Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro, on Randy Foye's 28-point game at Dallas. ROSTER REPORT PLAYER NOTES: --G Chris Paul dished out 10 assists during a rough 3-for-12 shooting night in Dallas. Paul has had 10 or more assists in five of his last six games. --F Caron Butler scored 13 points at Dallas. In Butler's last trip to Dallas, he received his NBA championship ring. --F Blake Griffin finished with 15 points and 16 rebounds. It was his 33rd double-double this season. MEDICAL WATCH: --G Chauncey Billups (left Achilles tendon surgery) is out for the remainder of the season. --G Mo Williams (left big toe) was hurt March 22. X-rays were negative, but he will be out at least until next week.
