PLAYERS: Jeremy Lin
TEAMS: New York Knicks
Jeremy Lin will not play with the select team that will scrimmage against the U.S. Olympic team because of his free agency. Lin is a restricted free agent, so the New York Knicks can match any offer he receives. Players can't sign new contracts until July 11, the last day the select team will train against the Americans in Las Vegas. USA Basketball also says Monday that Boston center Greg Stiemsma won't take part because of plantar fasciitis in his foot. Philadelphia guard Jrue Holiday was added earlier Monday to the squad.

Report: Lin to visit Rockets on Wednesday

New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin, who is a restricted free agent, will visit the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, ESPN.com reported Tuesday. The Knicks would like to retain Lin, who was a media sensation midway through the season, and they could keep him by matching any offer Lin gets. But, according to the report, if a team offers him a backloaded multiyear contract that pays him...

Two people with knowledge of the plans say Jeremy Lin will visit the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, and the New York Knicks guard is expected to get a contract offer. The Rockets waived Lin last year and he was claimed by the Knicks, turning into a breakout star when he landed the starting point guard job. Now with Goran Dragic not expected to return, Houston may want Lin back. ...

The Knicks guard, who was named to the select team on May 14th, wants to focus solely on his future and contract negotiations.  Lin was 1 of 13 players selected to play against the 2012 Men’s USA Olympic team in preparation for this summer’s Olympic games in London...

Rockets' bad luck just won't run out

Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey is a numbers guy, an MIT guy, a probabilities guy. MIT is the kind of place where you can learn to predict the next face card, not hope for it. Luck is just nonsense to a guy like Morey, but then there is this: Last fall, the Rockets had guard Jeremy Lin on their roster, but they cut him because they already had Kyle Lowry and Goran Dragic...

Jeremy Lin to head back to Houston?

When the word trickled out that Jeremy Lin could sign an offer sheet with the Houston Rockets, I was reminded of a quote from the movie Pulp Fiction. Please click the link below to read the rest of this feature.

Knicks' plan for re-signing Lin could backfire

When Jeremy Lin’s season ended early because of an injury that kept him out of the playoffs for the New York Knicks, “Linsanity” lost a lot of its luster. But when next season starts, I would imagine it will pick up right where it left off. The question is, will that be in New York or somewhere else? The Knicks have decided to let Lin, a restricted free agent, hit the open...

Raptors, Mavericks, Nets Express Interest In Jeremy Lin

The Knicks may not match a 'poison pill' contract should Jeremy Lin sign one with another team.

Will Knicks match offer to Lin?

Raymond Felton is returning to New York, calling into question whether the Knicks plan to re-sign fellow point guard Jeremy Lin. Felton's agent confirmed a Yahoo Sports report Saturday that Felton would be signed and traded by Portland to New York. Lin has signed an offer sheet with the Houston Rockets, and the Knicks have repeatedly said they would match any offer for their...

U.S.A. Select Team loses Lin, Stiemsma

It seems every day a member of Team U.S.A. is removing his name from the potential roster due to injury. Chris Bosh (abdominal injury), Dwayne Wade (knee surgery), Dwight Howard (back surgery), and Anthony Davis (ankle injury) are just a few players who have dropped out of playing in London leaving some holes to fill if Team U.S.A. are going to make what many feel will be a march...
