DJ Augustin for MVP! Sign of a true fan. Crap all over a player when he struggles, sing his praises when he delivers. DJ, starting for the second consecutive game for the Pacers at point guard in place of the injured Geoge Hill, rose to the occasion again, setting another season high with 18 points to go with 6 assists in 37 minutes as the Pacers allowed the Wizards to come almost all the way back from 17 points down before holding them off for an 89-81 victory. Augustin was 9-10 from the free throw line, including 6-6 down the stretch (the Pacers' final 6 points, in fact) as Bradley Beal went nuts and almost stole the game by making three huge shots just when the game appeared to be over. Despite looking lost all season, for the last two games at least, Augustin has been huge for the Pacers and finally looks like he belongs on the court. Is it because he wasn't used to coming off the bench or playing limited minutes? Who knows, but if George Hill is back for...

Pacers bring back G Johnson from D-League

The Indiana Pacers recalled rookie guard Orlando Johnson from Fort Wayne of the NBA D-League, the team announced Friday. Johnson was sent down Thursday to play a game with the Mad Ants. He had 25 points and six assists in a 102-86 win over Santa Cruz. Johnson has seen action in three games this season with Indiana and has yet to score.

Pacers 89, Wizards 81

Paul George had 29 points and 13 rebounds, D.J. Augustin scored 18 points, and the Indiana Pacers beat the Washington Wizards 89-81 on Wednesday night. George had 10 points in the first quarter as the Central Division-leading Pacers (19-13) led by as many as 17 points against the team with the NBA's worst record. ''Paul George is becoming a beast of a player,'&...

INDIANAPOLIS -- Third-year swingman Paul George is continuing to do his best to make sure the Indiana Pacers don't suffer too much without Danny Granger. George continued his offensive surge, opening the new year by scoring 29 points in the Pacers' 89-81 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. “Happy to get a win, wasn’t...

Wizards-Pacers Preview

The Indiana Pacers continue to perform superbly while short-handed and are now on the verge of their longest home win streak in three seasons. The Pacers hope to have starting guard George Hill available as they attempt that feat, but if he's not, D.J. Augustin will try to prove a capable replacement again Wednesday night against the woeful Washington Wizards. Despite the season...

DJ Augustin surprises by not sucking; Pacers beat Grizzlies

What a great way to end 2012. Playing like a turd on stale bread all season, DJ Augustin got the call to start at PG tonight over George Hill, who sat out with a groin/leg problem, apparently. The move must have sent chills down the spines of every Pacers fan, because Augustin hadn't even scored more than 8 points in a single this season going into the game, and was shooting...
