Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
This is Gerald Green. This is not photo shopped. That is a regulation rim. Gerald Green can jump. It's time to get this kid into the dunk contest again. He was robbed in that last one. That cupcake dunk and the bare foot dunk should have won it for him. This kid is special and I'm very happy to see him back in the league so I can post highlights from him again. And there will be lots of highlights.
There is always that one player that we keep up with and that we just kind of like. They aren't your favorite player, but they are good kids and so you follow them. For me, one of those kids was Gerald Green. When the Celtics drafted him out of high school, he was immature and not ready for prime time. He could jump out of the gym and had so much potential, but he didn't have the attitude or work ethic to match. But I liked the kid.
Since he left the Celtics, I've been following him as he played in Russia and won a slam dunk contest there. He played some in the D-League and some overseas. And in each of those stops, he's learned more about the game and more importantly, more about himself. Now, at the age of 26, he's ready to resume his NBA career.
No longer is he the slightly arrogant player who didn't feel the need to work hard. He's grateful for the opportunity to play in the NBA once again. He's a good fit with the Pacers and they are a good fit for him. And I'm pulling for him to make it in the league. I think this time, he's ready.
Last season he was picked up on a 10 day contract with the Nets. He played well enough for them to pick him up for the remainder of the season. In the offseason, the Pacers signed him to a 3 year $10.5 million contract. He has played well for them this season and he still can jump out of the gym. Here's a Gerald alley oop against the bulls.

Amazingly, Gerald Green has restarted his career in the NBA. The Celtics' former first-round draft pick is playing with the Pacers and wouldn't you know it, he's still dunking.
Green flashed the one skill that always made Boston fans, "wow" on Friday night, dunking over the Bulls on an alley-oop from David West. Green has had a solid preseason...

HE'S GOT HIGH HOPS
Tweet There aren’t many guys in the NBA who have the athletic ability of Gerald Green from the Indiana Pacers. The Houston Rockets got a glimpse of it last season when he caught this windmill alley-oop. It was on full display against the Chicago Bulls last week. As if we needed further proof Green [...]
Gerald Green's return to the NBA last year meant at least one thing: more awesome dunking Youtube videos.
Green's Pacers teammates had the unfortunately task of practicing alley-oop dunks before the former Celtics first-round pick at practice. Green outshined them all with his hops, soaring above the rim for a windmill and a two-handed slam. He was just...
What you’re looking at (minus the quotations I added, which may or may not indicate what was going on here) is a screenshot from FSN’s latest Pacer broadcast. It has not been manipulated in any way, and I can attest to that fact because I saw the video myself. Unfortunately, FSN announced that they’d be showing this footage hours before they actually did… so the batteries...
Check out this pic of former Celtics slam dunk champion Gerald Green at a Pacers practice. Say what you will about his game, but his jumping ability is simply unreal.
Tweet If there’s one thing we know about Gerald Green of the Indiana Pacers, it’s that he can get up and finish at the rim. If there’s one thing we know about Tom Thibodeau’s Chicago Bulls, it’s that they’re one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. On these two plays only one of [...]
What you’re looking at, my friends, is a black Dodge Challenger. It belongs to Paul George, and it has no wheels because somebody stole them. The rims disappeared while the Pacers were in South Bend (Notre Dame campus) to play an exhibition against the Bulls on Friday evening. Whether this happened at a public facility, a Pacers’ facility, or some other private parking...
Indiana Pacers point guard George Hill could miss the start of the regular season with hip pointer and left thumb issues. Hill will likely miss the entire preseason, and his absence increases concern about his availability for the Oct. 31 season opener at Toronto. Head coach Frank Vogel is trying to remain optimistic that Hill will play, according to the Indianapolis Star. ...
Here is the video that the photo that has been going around the internet came from. I know that I may seem obsessed with Gerald. But I'm just following a former Celtic that I've always liked and that I'm rooting for. Now, Perk is my real obsession. If you don't believe me, you can check out my Celtic Thunder website. I still love Perk. He'll always be my...

Here we go. The 2012-2013 NBA season kicks off on Tuesday, with the Indiana Pacers opening their campaign against the Raptors in Toronto on Wednesday. It's an exciting time to be a Pacers fan, after this rising team of young talents and experienced veterans defied expectations to finish with a 42-24 record last season (equivalent to 52 games in an 82-game season) before pushing...
The Indiana Pacers are definitely a team to watch in the east this upcoming season. Especially if you have an affinity for high flying dunkers. The photo above was posted to Paul George’s instagram account of teammate Gerald Green kissing the rim. Check out video from the Pacers fan jam of the two showcasing [...]
I had intended to review each player separately, but the imminence of the upcoming 2012-2013 season combined with my laziness has made this an impossible endeavor.
