Gerald Henderson picked the wrong night for some late-game heroics. Less than an hour after second-year star Kyrie Irving hit a game-winning three pointer to clinch a victory for the Cavaliers, Henderson did the same, though the Bobcats didn’t make it look quite as easy. It took nearly the entire 24-second shot clock for Charlotte to get the ball off, and the Bobcats (or Cats, according to their alternate jerseys) nearly turned the ball over four separate times during the sequence. Henderson finally hit the game-winning trey to push Charlotte ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves 102-101 with 4.6 seconds left on the clock. The Bobcats snapped a 16-game home losing streak with Henderson’s clutch shot. They were just two games shy of the NBA record held by the 1993-94 Dallas Mavericks. Watch the second game-winning three of the night in the video below.

Gerald Henderson Hits Game-Winning 3 vs. Timberwolves

The Bobcats nearly lost the ball 3 times before Gerald Henderson nailed a tough game-winning 3-pointer to beat the Timberwolves 102-101 and end the Bobcats’ 16-game home losing streak:

Henderson sinks 3 to lift Bobcats over Wolves

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Gerald Henderson hit a 3-pointer from 25 feet with 4.6 seconds left to lift the Charlotte Bobcats to a 102-101 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night, snapping a 16-game home losing streak. The Bobcats streak was stopped two short of the NBA record held by the 1993-94 Dallas Mavericks. Kemba Walker led Charlotte with 25 points and Ramon Sessions...

Gerald Henderson Steals A Game From The Wolves

I am not a coach but I am pretty positive that this was not the play that Mike Dunlap drew up.  The play that was suppose to be run went horrible wrong and turned one of the sloppiest plays to end a game into a game winning shot by Gerald Henderson.  The Bobcats fans lost their minds and the Timberwolves looked so confused.

Bobcats, Wolves try to end respective droughts

The Charlotte Bobcats are nearing an NBA record for ineptitude with 16 straight home losses. The Minnesota Timberwolves have dropped 10 of 11 on the road, including six in a row. One of those streaks will come to an end Saturday night when the Bobcats host the Timberwolves. Charlotte owns the league's worst overall record at 10-32 after losing its last three games, but most concerning...

Can Tyrus Thomas Dunk?

Remember when Tyrus Thomas jumped over former Bulls and current Bobcats teammate Ben Gordon in the Slam Dunk Contest?  That was in 2007, almost six years ago to the day.  Tyrus was a 20-year-old rookie then, a slam-dunking pogo stick of a power forward who seemed to enjoy attempting to tear the rim down every time he got the chance. A lot can change in six years, especially in...

Bobcats 102, Timberwolves 101

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Gerald Henderson hit a desperation 3-pointer with 4.6 seconds left as the Charlotte Bobcats snapped a 16-game home-court losing streak with a 102-101 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night. Henderson's desperate heave came as the shot clock was expiring. After a mad scramble in the Charlotte backcourt. Kemba Walker eventually tracked the...

Charlotte Bobcats vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Pick and Preview

The Charlotte Bobcats host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night, currently suffering through yet another losing streak, this time with three straight losses. To make matters worse, Charlotte hasn’t won at home in almost two months, and basically is eyeing the number one overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. At this point, most Bobcats [...]

1/26/13 Wolves @ Bobcats

In typical fashion, the Wolves can end a milestone tonight....for the other team. That being a 16-game home losing streak for the Bobcats. Same deflated lineups against an even more deflated team. Quintuple team Kemba Walker and we should win it, for the rest of the Bobcats roster less Henderson and Kidd-Gilchrist to some degree, are more offensively inept than the Wolves at this...

BOBCATS STAY IN PLAYOFF HUNT WITH HOME WIN!

I love our youth... The importance of the game at Time Warner cannot be overstated. Our path to the playoffs starts with a win against the Timberwolves. It will also involve incredible luck, roughly 200 injuries to players on other Eastern Conference teams, and the entire stock of a meth lab roughly the size of the state of Colorado, but that’s later. First comes a win against...

Bobcats finally end home losing streak... now what?

After last season, you would say the Charlotte Bobcats could not get any worse. The team posted a 7-59 record and set a new NBA low for winning percentage (.106). This year, Charlotte is still the worst team in the league, but they are improving… sort of. Instead of setting new NBA records for futility, the Bobcats are just getting close. The 1993-94 Dallas Mavericks hold the...
