With the exception of the Las Vegas oddsmakers, most people are writing the Chicago Bulls out of playoff contention for this season thanks to Derrick Rose's torn ACL and MCL.  But are they still playoff contenders in what is a lopsided Eastern Conference?  Reserve power forward Taj Gibson think told ESPN Chicago he thinks the Bulls can contend even without Rose for at least most of the regular season. "Our mindset hasn't changed. It's about staying focused and taking one game at a time. We understand it's going to be up and down at the beginning of the season. We can't look forward to the end. We got to look forward to one game at a time and playing to our strengths and just listening to coach (Tom Thibodeau). I know it's going to be a long season, but I'm really optimistic about what's going to happen." What else is he going to stay? Of course Gibson thinks the Bulls can compete, especially when the Bulls have a fairly succ...

  • Gibson is a gamer. He should believe as he believes. But Boozer is a looser and the Bulls are not going anywhere without a fully recovered Rose.

  • Just like when Mike left, so did the Bulls.
I agree with the Boozer is a looser thing.
I hope they do compete. I'm a Knick fan but I like to see games that are played hard, games where you don't know who's gonna win until the final ticks of the clock. I don't like blowouts. I don't even mind my team losing as long as they leave it all on the floor.

Rose's quotes from the video above: “The whole time the playoffs was going on I only watched a couple of games from every series, but I wasn’t into it like I was if I was playing. I know that’s going to push me to work even...

Brian Scalabrine Turns Down Chicago Bulls Coaching Job, Will Broadcast Celtics Games Instead

It looks like Celtics fans wanting some more Brian Scalabrine are going to get their wish. The former power forward has turned down a coaching offer from the Chicago Bulls in favor of broadcasting games this season with Comcast Sports New England, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. While it's not entirely an admitting that he is retired from basketball, Scalabrine...

Chicago Bulls:NBA Offseason (draft, trades, and free agency)

Chicago Bulls : NBA Draft Grade B 29) Marquis Teague, PG The Bulls could have been in the NBA finals but that all change when Derrick Rose torn his ACL. The Bulls really need a backup point guard to Rose. Especially with Rose’s status to begin the season unknown. With their only pick in the draft, that got that point guard in Teague. I was shocked that the third best...

Scal chooses CSNNE studio over coaching gig

Instead of suiting up on a nightly basis for Tom Thibodeau as part of his Bulls coaching staff, Boston favorite Brian Scalabrine will suit up for CSNNE.  Choosing the Boston TV gig over the Chicago coaching gig wasn’t easy… especially since he wanted to keep playing.  But, sadly, no one wanted him.  ”I had zero opportunities. Not some, but zero.” Ouch. I’m sure Scal’s...

The jersey of the man in the middle

Much respect for this Hoopster rocking a Bill Cartwright Chicago Bulls jersey. In the order of which throwback Bulls jersey that most fans would get this definitely comes after MJ, Scottie, Rodman, Ho Grant (even though I’ve never seen a Ho Grant jersey), BJ Armstong, John Paxson, and Steve Kerr. Only then would you probably start considering Bill Cartwright and even then I might...

No one wants Brian Scalabrine anymore... except Boston TV viewers

I have been tasked with eulogizing Brian Scalabrine's career.  And I'll be honest, I'm not 100% sure how to properly do that.  I've have a unique perspective on it because I just happened to be paying attention to it at the critical swing of the pendulum from "nobody" to "hated because he's overpaid" to "could be mayor if he wants...
