Now that Gilbert Arenas is a third-string guard who plays for the Grizzlies, he’s probably not having as much fun as he used to. He was already heading downhill in Washington before the gun incident, but that became the final straw for his career with the Wizards. However, when Arenas was one of the highest-paid players in the NBA, he was known as a prankster. That could be why Andray Blatche once falsely accused him of cutting up his suit. In an interview with the USA Today, Arenas told a story about Blatche once throwing all of his clothes in the jacuzzi because he thought Gilbert cut up his suit. Arenas insists he was not the culprit, but he was forced to get back at Blatche for throwing his clothes in the hot tub. He decided to take aim at Blatche’s sneakers “It was just dog doo-doo in it,” Arenas recalled. “It was really dog doo-doo. … I took his sole out, threw it under there, put the sole back on and threw the baby powder on there so he couldn’t smell it.” Advantage: Arena...

Vince Carter's proximity disgusts Rudy Gay

Vince Carter pulled the old burp-n-blow on the Grizzlies Rudy Gay last night. Gay is waiting to inbound the ball. Carter approaches, like a lion stalking its prey. Gay, unexpecting, like a gazelle. Then it happens. Carter attacks, letting that burp go, and blowing in Gay’s face. Gay responds by half gagging, half wincing, followed by looking to the referee for help. Carter can...

Gay, Grizzlies top Suns for 4th straight

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Rudy Gay scored a season-high 32 points and the Memphis Grizzlies won their fourth straight with a 104-93 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night. Memphis outscored the Suns 17-6 after Phoenix tied the game at 87 with 6:27 left. Dante Cunningham had six of his 10 points during the stretch run. Zach Randolph had 17 points and nine rebounds for Memphis...

Get Familar With Kevin Seraphin Now, Or Be Forced To Do So In The Near Future

First of all, Who is Kevin Seraphin?  Where did he come from?  Both are legitimate questions, as he’s only played sparingly for a Washington Wizards team that’s gone 37-103 since his arrival.  Although Seraphin, a native of French Guiana (South America, borders with Brazil), has been a Wizard for the duration of his young NBA career, he was actually handed a Chicago Bulls...

Suns hope to sweep series vs. Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns have been steadily climbing the Western Conference standings. While the Grizzlies want to reach the No. 4 spot, the Suns would be happy with any seed. Strong bench play has been boosting both teams' playoff standing going into their matchup Wednesday night in Memphis. The Grizzlies (33-23) were under .500 as of Feb. 7 but have since gone...

Seraphin Steps Up With Starters Out

Trevor Booker first fell victim to plantar fasciitis and put pressure on the rest of the team to pick up the slack. Almost like a virus, Nene dropped to the same injury just days later. With Andray Blatche sidelined to improve his conditioning, the Wizards were left without a starting center. This provided Kevin Seraphin with his spotlight sooner than most had expected. “When the...

Suns can't hold off Grizzlies' final run

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Rudy Gay scored a season-high 32 points and the Memphis Grizzlies won their fourth straight with a 104-93 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night. Memphis outscored the Suns 17-6 after Phoenix tied the game at 87 with 6:27 left. Dante Cunningham had six of his 10 points during the stretch run. Wall Working To Overcome Scoring Slump

Through the transition from March to April, John Wall’s production had dropped off. It was not terrible, but the usual 15-20 points per game was disappearing. A 14-point ceiling seemed to emerge. Randy Wittman was quick to point things out. “He needs to take a step back and simplify things. He’s trying to do too much too fast right now. Sometimes it’s easier to take a step...

Conley, Grizzlies gaining momentum

Last year the Memphis Grizzlies shocked the NBA by taking down the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs. This year there was some talk preseason that they might challenge the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Western Conference title, but that faded when they got off to a slow start. It also didn’t help that one of their best players and last year’s big...

Players To Watch: Grizzlies vs Rainiers

The Grizzlies take on the Tacoma Rainiers this weekend in a four-game set. Here are four players to watch.

Jordan Crawford alley-oop to John wall who dunks all over Baron Davis

Baron Davis had a great game on his 33rd birthday against the Washington Wizards tonight, connecting on four three pointers, scoring a season high 18 points. B-Diddy may not be able to finish posterizing dunks like he used to when he was a spring chicken, but he definitely got a taste of what if feels like to be on the opposite end of one tonight. During a 2 on 1 fast break, John...

Jazz-Grizzlies Preview

Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins insists that Zach Randolph will continue to come off the bench. Not having Randolph at all contributed to two losses for Hollins' club to the Utah Jazz. The Grizzlies, in fifth place in the Western Conference, seek their seventh straight home win Saturday night as these teams complete their season series. Randolph had 10 points and 11...

If Not One, Then Two: Analyzing the Wizards' Draft Possibilities

John Wall or Evan Turner, Kevin Durant or Greg Oden, Derrick Rose or Michael Beasley. Normally there is at least a semblance of a debate regarding who should be the number one overall pick in the NBA draft. This year there is no debate, anyone who knows anything about basketball is certain without a shadow of a doubt that Anthony Davis will be the first player selected in the draft...

Spurs-Grizzlies rematch?

There was something different about entering the Memphis Grizzlies locker room last night after they had just lost by ten points and lost all four games of the season series. While the losing locker room is usually very quiet with players holding their heads down and talking about lack of execution or lost opportunities, I walked into what seemed like a positive environment. Players...

Cavaliers-Wizards Preview

With the playoffs out of the picture, all that's left for the Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers to do is salvage something positive in the final weeks of the season. The Wizards look to bounce back from another embarrassing defeat and continue their recent success against the visiting Cavaliers on Saturday night. After winning 113-85 at Charlotte on Monday and 93-85...
