Sportress of Blogitude:
As part of some strange hazing ritual that is as odd as it is chock-full of necessary vitamins and minerals, it appears rookies on the Orlando Magic squad must provide veterans — especially those veterans on the larger size who go by the moniker ‘Big Baby” — a daily ration of at minimum one peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Poor Magic rookie Andrew Nicholson learned that depriving Glen Davis of his peanut butter and jelly sandwich makes Glen Davis very frustrated and temperamental. All work and no PB&J makes Glen a dull boy or something. Hungry boy, more likely. Ha. The look on Nicholson’s face when Davis interrupts his interview is priceless. You can almost read his thoughts: “Please don’t eat me. Please don’t eat me. Please don’t eat me.” Poor kid. WHAT GIVES, ROOKIE?
Magic forward Glen Davis didn’t get his nickname from being scrawny. Before Tuesday’s game with the Pistons, “Big Baby” went searching for his pre-game peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which apparently was supposed to be made by rookie Andrew Nicholson. Davis interrupted an interview Nicholson was having with Fox Sports Detroit’s Justin White to interrogate. He was disgusted...
Orlando Magic rookie Andrew Nicholson got a taste of some rookie hazing recently at the hands of Glen “Big Baby” Davis. The former St. Bonaventure star was simply minding his own business and conducting an interview in the locker room before a game earlier this week when Davis came along and interrupted him. What did Big Baby want? His pregame peanut butter and jelly sandwich...
Glen “Big Baby” Davis wants his peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and he wants it now.
Davis recently decided to call out teammate Andrew Nicholson in the Magic locker room for not carrying out his rookie responsibility, which apparently involves him bringing Davis a sandwich. Nicholson, however, played it off as if he didn’t know he was required to serve as the team’s pregame...
Glen Davis did not have his best game Tuesday night in Detroit. The Magic's big man scored 11 points, but hit on just 4 of his 16 field goal attempts. Davis was particularly frustrated after the game, telling Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel among the assembled media that he played like garbage and he needs to do better.
For what it is worth, Jacque Vaughn said Davis...
We all know that Orlando Magic forward Glen Davis is a pretty fun-loving guy but it when it comes to food, Glen is all business.Magic rookie Andrew Nicholson was doing an interview with Fox Sports Orlando when he is interrupt by Davis about a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that he was supposed to make him as part of his rookie hazing. This is 55 seconds of your life that you need to see:
Orlando Magic forward Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis is a pretty funny guy, and he took the opportunity on camera to embarrass and haze rookie teammate Andrew Nicholson on Tuesday night. Big Baby stopped the interview Andrew was giving and accused him of not having his peanut butter and jelly sandwich prepared as part of his pre-game meal. The look on Nicholson’s face is priceless...
Tweet Usually rookies go through a hazing period to initiate them to their new team, and Orlando Magic rookie Andrew Nicholson is no different. Veteran big man and resident class clown Glen “Big Baby” Davis interrupted a Nicholson interview recently to make an odd request: Davis wanted his peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or else: I [...]

Apparently Orlando Magic forward Glen 'Big Baby' Davis loves his peanut butter and jelly sandwich's. He loves them so much he decided to break up an interview with rookie Andrew Nicholson to find out why he didn't bring him his pregame PB&J. Nicholson looks legit scared that Big Baby Davis might eat him instead of the sandwich. As for the interviewer, he...
As we constantly remind folks on here, Glen Big Baby Davis is a different type of cat. Orlando Magic rookie Andrew Nicholson was giving Fox Sports an interview when Davis interrupted to remind him of something.
See Nicholson is a rookie, and in professional sports leagues, rookies go through some sort of hazing whether it be carrying bags, getting breakfast, or in Nicholson’s...
AUBURN HILS, Mich. -- For years, Glen Davis has been a thorn in the side of the Detroit Pistons.
Tuesday, Jason Maxiell played Big Baby right off the floor.
Davis missed 11 of his 15 first-half shots, picked up a technical early in the third quarter and was benched for most of the second half as the Pistons beat the Orlando Magic 105-90.
"Baby has been a difference-maker...
I believe I linked to this post in what I posted Tuesday on when the Magic become more about development than about winning games. Perhaps, some clarification is needed though.
The Magic are about development fully. That was a stated goal when Rob Hennigan and Jacque Vaughn took the job.
It is hard to see that development though. Winning and veterans are still a big part...
The urgency was awoken within the Magic late in the fourth quarter. Wittling down an 11-point lead would no longer cut it with time running out. Drastic action was needed.
A J.J. Redick 4-point play to tie the game with 50 seconds left. A Glen Davis offensive rebound and pass to E'Twaun Moore for a game-re-tying floater with 20 seconds left. A key foul from Davis had the...
