Go Deep: Atlanta Hawks Sign Joe Smith

The Atlanta Hawks and 14 year veteran Joe Smith finally signed yesterday, August the 25th, a one year deal. Smith had committed with the Hawks for about a week now but couldn't sign until just yesterday for some kind of NBA rule. Smith is another one of those players who become a fashion in the NBA. Veteran that can rebound, shoot and be a good influence inside the locker room. Ever since the PJ Brown effect, every single team looks for a guy like that and Atlanta got one which put them a step ahead of other teams in the fight for the Eastern Conference playoffs. Smith will come off the bench to form with Zaza Pachulia the second unit frontcourt. Smith, a very skillful Power Forward, proved last year with the Cavaliers that he still can contribute. The Hawks understand that they already have a foundation, which allowed them a high seed into the playoffs, however if they wanted to go deeper than that they should add pieces, small and big ones.
