The Majors Detroit:
The final remaining piece of the 2004 Championship team is gone.
Wednesday Joe Dumars become involved in a three team trade with Memphis and Toronto that centered around Rudy Gay of the Grizzlies. No the Pistons didn’t acquire Gay, which would have been awesome but they did receive point guard Jose Calderon in the deal who was originally sent to the Grizzlies.
Going to Memphis for Calderon is Tayshaun Prince, who has spent his entire 10 1/2 year career with the Pistons along with Austin Daye who has been pretty much a non factor since being taken by Detroit in the first round back in 2009.

ESPN’s Marc Stein was one of the first who reported on the deal saying the Pistons along with the Dallas Mavericks seemed to be at the front of the line to land Calderon. Memphis however was asking for Vince Carter in return somet...
BEST OF MAXIM
Tayshaun Prince has played his entire career with the Detroit Pistons, so it’d be natural to expect him to run out of the tunnel, just like he has since entering the league in 2002. Earlier today, reports surfaced of a three-team trade that would send Prince to the Memphis Grizzlies. One eager Prince fan apparently didn’t get the memo — fortunately the TV cameras were rolling...
Jose Calderon is not expected to play for the Detroit Pistons on Friday night because of visa issues following his trade this week from Toronto.
The Spanish-born guard was at Detroit's practice facility Friday, but the team didn't have any specific word on when he'd be able to take the court. The Pistons host Cleveland on Friday and the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday....
A Tayshaun Prince fan waiting in his jersey for the forward to run out of the Pistons’ tunnel gets confused when he doesn’t see his favorite player among the team. After receiving the information of the trade on his phone, the disappointed fan ditches the jersey before tip-off:
Tweet Long-time Detroit Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince, one of the last remaining players from the Pistons 2004 NBA championship roster, was dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday afternoon for Jose Calderon. Once a fan wearing a Prince jersey found out Prince wasn’t coming down the tunnel pre-game, the fan quickly ripped his jersey off. Watch: [...]
The Detroit Pistons are ready to welcome one veteran after saying goodbye to another.
Guard Jose Calderon could make his Detroit debut Friday night when the struggling Pistons try for a fifth consecutive victory over the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers.
Detroit (17-29) played like a distracted team Wednesday, falling 98-79 at Indiana for its second straight loss and fourth in five contests...
According to Marc Stein, ESPN:
ESPN sources say Grizzlies and Raps have deal in place to swap Rudy Gay and Hamed Haddadi for Ed Davis and Jose Calderon.
Sources say deal will morph to include third team to take Calderon, with Detroit at the front of the line to land the Spaniard after chasing him all season. Third team not yet in stone but Pistons have had interest in Calderon all...
The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to send small forward Rudy Gay and center Hamed Haddadi to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for point guard Jose Calderon and forward Ed Davis, according to a person with knowledge of the deal.
Calderon will be sent to Detroit in the deal in exchange for veteran small forward Tayshaun Prince, fourth-year forward Austin Daye and a second-round pick...
The rumor shave been swirling for a while, but the Memphis Grizzlies have finally found and agreed to a trade to send Rudy Gay to the Toronto Raptors.
The Raptors will acquire Gay while giving up Jose Calderon and Ed Davis. Details are not all out on the table just yet, but it is expected that the Detroit Pistons will serve as the third team to take on Jose Calderon.
Well there was good news and bad news depending on how you look at it for the the Pistons Wednesday night in Indianapolis.
The good news?
Joe Dumars was able to send the bloated Tayshaun Prince contract along with an under-performing Austin Daye to Memphis for Jose Calderon and his expiring contract.
The bad news… the Pistons were simply pathetic shooting from the field tonight...
With Jose Calderon coming to Detroit, there’s a question of who will lose out. The Pistons are already pretty guard heavy, so adding another quality guard makes sense. Despite Brandon Knight‘s 7/1/4 line, he has been doing extremely well and should continue to start. Kyle Singler went 5/4/0 (with 2 blocks) has been a bit iffy, but he’s a rookie, and surely Detroit isn’t in...
After what felt like a super long road trip out West, the Indiana Pacers finally returned to Banker's Life Fieldhouse to pound the shorthanded (lost Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye in a trade) Detroit Pistons 98-79, snapping a 3-game losing streak to begin a long home-stretch with just a single road game until Feb. 23.
Not much to say except it was good to see the Pacers...
The Raptors would send out both Jose Calderon and Ed Davis to acquire Rudy Gay.
The Memphis Grizzlies, playing for the first time after trading away Rudy Gay, get set to face the Thunder in Oklahoma City tonight. While the Gay swap for Ed Davis, Tayshaun Prince, and Austin Daye saves the tea money and improves depth in the long-run, they’ll be fairly depleted in tonight’s match-up.
AccuScore has the Thunder as heavy favorites with 87.3 percent chance at...
